It seeps in slowly
Taking over everything
And you don't know it's coming
Not until it's too late
It swims through your veins
And lingers in your mind
It wraps around you like a python
As it silently strangles you
It crawls beneath your skin
It eats away your heart
And then when you feel it
You can't do anything
It's taken over your body
It controls your mind
It settles in your chest cavity
And becomes your heart
It's painful and heavy
As it lives inside you
You try to get it out
But it has become a part of you
It takes away your love
And replaces it with hate
And when you try to fight it
You're overcome with immense agony
The pain grows stronger
Until you can not move
Then when it's at its peak
It stops
You breath heavily
And slowly move your limbs
And just when you think it's over
It comes back, stronger than ever
This time you don't try to fight it
For you know you won't survive the attack
You just sit there and let it take you over
And pretty soon you fade to nothing
You do not eat
You will not drink
You do not do anything
For you no longer have the will
So you just sit
Staring blankly ahead
You no longer feel anything
No love, no hate, just nothing
Hi there! I'm Luxe and I'm going to be giving you a review today.

Your imagery is so beautiful and I applaud you for a job well done. You really captured the feeling of depression. As someone who's been there and back again, I feel like you did an excellent job portraying what it is really like to be in a depression. I especially like the second to last verse. It's wonderful. I don't really have much to say in the way of advice. This piece was great!
Best of luck,
Luxe
This is so real. So precise in your description. What makes it even more so is how you went about it. How you described it. Depression is a disease. There could not have been a better way to express that. It is also a drug (depressant? haha!) It was so sensual, I could feel it all. I love the fact that your poems always pull out my empathy and I can always think, I could not have expressed it better.

'Staring blankly ahead'...waiting for the end?
Good job Angel. Keep writing things worth writing for. I'll always be here to read
