You

In Poetry

You betrayed me
You gained my trust and then walked away
You left me here with nothing
And watch the darkness that is coming
Swallow me under and pull me apart

You ruined me
You left me lying there like a fallen tree
You kicked me when I was down
And every chance you got, you pushed me around
You watched me die as my soul crumbled

You hated me
You hated me because I was what you wanted to be
You hated me for what I lacked
And sat there watching as my soul cracked
Because you never saw the potential that YOU had

You pushed me away
And all I could do was pray
Pray that you would someday see
Everything that you could be
Because there's so much more to you than bullying others

You stabbed me in the back
And expected me to cover your tracks
You expected me to forgive you
You said that from now on you would be true
But how do expect me to believe you now when all you've ever done is lie?

Hey, Fallenangel!! This is an awesome poem and I like how passionate it is. There were just a few tiny things I noticed that could be changed to make the poem awesomer.
First, in the first stanza, you start off with past tense then switch to present tense and then the rest of the poem is in past. It should be:
You watched the darkness that was coming
Swallowed me under and pulled me apart
Other than that, I don't see any grammar or spelling mistakes, so good job on that! :)
The flow is pretty good for the first few stanzas, but I feel like the last line of the second-to-last stanza: "Because there's so much more to you than bullying others" is a bit of a mouthful. Also, the last line of the last stanza could be broken into two lines since it's a bit long as well.
I love the meanings behind the poem and the repeated use of the word "you". The repetition adds emphasis in an awesomelly genius way. I hope this review helps!

Very nice poem and very intense.
I really like strong feelings in poems I think they are required.
It is a poem full of hatred and cause the reader to feel angry or compassion. I m not sure if it is refering in a friend or a lover but surely it is dedicated to a person who caused pain so I think it expresses the feeling of many people.

However I think the poem is not balanced since you focus a lot in this rage and in a selfish kind of love while you could give it a taste of melancholy silent sadness if you understand.

You could forexample refer to the feelings you had towards the person and emphasise a bit more in the pain rather than rage. I get the feeling of hate from the poem and if the reader is not in the propper mood to read it they might be affected by the negativity it contains

It was nice over all just take into consideration those little details if you wish.

I liked this part a lot.

"You hated me
You hated me because I was what you wanted to be
You hated me for what I lacked
And sat there watching as my soul cracked
Because you never saw the potential that YOU had"

Good work!

Hallo, I noticed that you have no reviews and so I decided to be the first.
I really am not partial to your rhyme scheme. Let me use a simile:
There are some types of plants that grow and attach themselves to trees. These plants can fall into two basic categories: the kind that benefit their host plant and the kind that harm it. Rhyme schemes are like these plants, and in this case the rhyme scheme is harmful. It appears to be strangling what you want to say rather than nurturing it.
Anyways, other than that I liked your poem, but the rhymes really disrupted the flow so I would polish that a little bit more.
