A Starless Night

In Poetry

The sky is black
A starless night
Nightmares invade my head
As I wait for morning light

The darkness is overwhelming
As it suffocates the earth
Crushing it through clenched jaws
For light does it thirst

I stare out of my window
At the endless black sky
As I just lay there
Wishing I would die

I think of everyone at school
Who hate me for who I am
But the reason I am like this
Is all because of them

They hate who I was before
and they hate who I've become
My heart beats unsteadily
Like the off beat rhythm of a drum

They tell me that I'm worthless
And they wish that I would die
I look to the teachers for help
But they just walk on by

It's becoming increasingly harder
To hold onto my sanity
As I'm stuck in the cycle
Of snapping in and out of reality

i love this poem!
"I think of everyone at school
Who hate me for who I am
But the reason I am like this
Is all because of them"
This part is true for me too.
"They tell me that I'm worthless
And they wish that I would die
I look to the teachers for help
But they just walk on by"
i'm sorry you feel this but you should keep on trying to hold on. just keep on telling yourself you only have to live like this for however many years you have left in school. this poem has raw emotion, keep up all the GREAT writing!!!!

I'm sorry... but lots of your poems take on the same theme... and if this is really who you think you are... get a therapist. No one who can write like you should feel this way.

You can't blame the writer for what the characters say.
