In Pieces of Poetry

Antimatter

The world was built in black and white,
To fight the darkness there must be light.
That’s why day must be met by night
And why to every wrong, there is a right.

Even in the safest places, there is fear,
And every laugh hides a few tears,
There are no riches without the poor
And though there’s less, there’s also more.

Without the ugly, the world lacks beauty
How can there be freedom without duty?
And it is known that love is fueled by hatred,
This is the way the world was created.

The invisible can’t be without the visible,
And every angel needs a criminal.
People can’t be happy if there is no sadness,
What is sanity, without the madness?

Even reality needs its collaboration
And so imagination joins the equation.
Without opposites there is friction,
The world needs its contradictions.

So I wonder, how can you claim to have lived?
-If you have never died.

Demoness -
It's a very entertaining poem...the sense of rhyme and rhythm is present in the poem as well. I really enjoyed reading it. Everything in this poem is absolutely true in my opinion, and it really paints a picture, and as I've said before (not to you :)), I look for works where they paint clear picture. I hope you keep writing!

Whoa this really is amazing. I like the last stanza "So I wonder, how can you claim to have lived? -If you have never died." It's very true. I also like the second to last stanza. It really speaks towards reality. "Even reality needs its collaborating, And so imagination joins the equation" is very true. Reality is very boring without your imagination. Those without imagination have no fun. Those with imagination have a ton of fun. This whole poem speaks the truth about the world. You see the world differently. I think authors see the world differently.

Very good rhyming scheme. Everything fits together really good.
scarletcurlicue has a point though, how is loved fueled by hatred? can you make this clear please. Its a interesting view point. But i do not understand this line.

There are a few line that i LOVE!

The whole of stanza two.
"What is sanity, without the madness?"
"So i wonder, how can you claim to have lived?
-If you have never died."

I love the quotes i stated. And stanza two is really good!

There is a lot that could be argued in this poem, but it a very good one.

And reading through this poem again, and reading through the comment, and my own that i am writing... I can see where the quote "And it is known that love is fueled by hatred" can come into perspective.
Correct me if i am wrong but in my eyes i see this quote as saying, the things we love, are closely related to those that we hate. Such as some verses in this poem, i do not like some of them, but i love some of the others. Even though they are all to do with the same poem.

I am not sure if i make much sense, but i think i understand where the inspiration came from.

Thanks for sharing this. Its quite a poem, it gets me thinking about a lot!

Well done and good luck!

-Clarity :)

What I mean, is simply- That everything is relative, and everything is about comparing. Here we have Hatred on the one end and Love on the other. But there is a teenzy but of love at the very left end as well as some hatred at the far right. I relaize fueled may not have been the best word but I'm trying to get the point over that if there would have been no hatred there would have been no love because how can you like if there's nothing to dislike, and love if there's nothing to hate. It's all relative and so love is fueled by hatred. Get it? Or am I only making sense to myself? :P

I get it, but fueled isn't the right word because its going to confuse a lot of people. But i understand and that is a really good meaning.

Now that things are more clear. I can honestly say that this is one of my favourite poems. You have conveyed things very effectivly. very well done! :D

Ooh, well. Thank you very much. Aand to that review needing be done, I'd love to review your work - As long as it's poetry :)

interesting viewpoint, even though i
COMPLETELY disagree.

but i found this interesting... i love hearing peoples opinions- everyone should spew out more of that.

the reason i disagree with this poem, however, is not because of the idea, rather because of the line"and it is known love is fueled by hatred".

HOW is love fueled by hatred?
they are totally different things, and while love and hatred CAN coexist, it is definitely not the norm.

I understand how you see it, only I think you misread the meaning of that line. Maybe that's because it's a bit vague but anyways, one line doesn't add up to "COMPLETELY disagree" does it? :P That's just partially disagreeing I'd say :)

Hi!
I absolutely can tell you one thing:
This poem is and forever will be one of my favorites!
I love the rhyming, and the poem flows so smoothly!
And I agree with you, everything needs to have it's opposite in order to exist!

The ending just stuns me, and it's simply spectacular! Thank you for a great poem!

Keep Writing!
