She's Drunk

In Poetry

Her head

was light of problems and fears.

Seeming

to have blown away

like old autumn leaves

in a fresh spring breeze.

Leaving behind

sprouting blossoms

and crisp petals.

This feeling

was unfamiliar.

"I think,"

she thought to herself with a smile,

"I am drunk

on happiness."

Hey there! Purple here to give you a review! Let's get started :)
First off, I LOVE YOUR GIF/PROFILE PICTURE IT IS GLORIOUS
Ahem. Anyway, this is such a lovely poem. You don't find a lot of good poems about geniune happiness that isn't just love and it's really refreshing. I like how the mind is in comparison with a garden. That analogy opens up lots of possibilities like "planting seeds" of some sort of confidence. It's like this blissful joy is something that you're not used to and it's actually kind of humble. And then the fact that you can't get enough of it is just great. I'm happy for you! Keep up the brilliant flowing work!
(Also I love doctor who so that makes you automatically awesome)

Hi there! Your friendly neighborhood Nerd Bird is here for a review!

Admittedly, I don't like poetry, like at all. I only seem to enjoy it when it's a children's book(having done my own) and have pretty pictures to go with it!

That being said. I liked this. I liked it cause it's short, to the point and doesn't overly stress on useless points or as someone else stated, doesn't depress in the slightest!

I like the ending more than anything, as the title instantly instills the negative view of 'drunk' but you cleanse that with happiness ^-^

I like this poem a lot. I really love how it flows. I also like that it's really short and simple. If it were longer it would be too much and hard to stay focused on. I agree that it is really refreshing to read a poem that isn't fill with teen angst. I thought that this was going to be about teen alcoholism and i was ready for a really sad story. I also really love that this poem doesn't explain why she's happy, because it doesn't need to because this way the reader can focus solely on the feeling of happiness. My only problem is the title, which is kind of misleading and I almost did not click on this because of it (But im glad I did:)

Thank you, I am so glad that you understood my meaning! :D

I really like this poem; it has significant substance whilst not being harsh. You use absolutely wonderful imagery and paint a splendid picture.

A quick critique: twice you use dependent clauses and end them with a period. I think that takes away from the otherwise clear flow of the poem. Also, only one of your lines contains a solitary word, and I find it to be lonely.

Altogether, you did a fantastic job of putting such an abstract feeling into clear words. You have a fabulous piece here.

Good job and keep writing!!

Hey, Pinkdinosaurs here to review :)

Well to start I was a little confused with the name at the start while I was reading the poem. Anyway, once I finished I found it really lovely how you put these words into a nice flowing feeling of being 'Drunk on happiness'.

Well Great poem overall.
