Ancient memories
twine skyward
and arms curve elegantly.
Coated in a skin
that is cracking with an age
everyone but time
has forgotten.

That was beautiful! Well done! I love this poem!!
I love the lines "everyone but time has forgotten." That to me was just so meaningful. It made me sad to think about the tree being all alone and abandoned and forgotten by everyone, and it just fades into nothingness... It probably lived a long, happy life, made many people happy, and maybe even been a secret retreat for young couples or little children. It probably made so many people happy, and they just went and forgot all about it, poor thing...
I also love the first line. This indicates that it's not just a tree, but an ancient monument that has stood tall and strong and constant throughout many lifetimes. Not just an object, but a piece of history, something that carries countless forgotten, yet so precious memories...
Once again, this is a beautiful poem. I absolutely love it. Great job, and keep writing amazing stuff!
I've suddenly been noticing a lot of poems about trees lately.
Anyway, Niraco here with a review!
I love the magical and slightly sad view of trees you give here.
This is a beautiful part here. The word elegantly is used perfectly. This relates back the tree being magical in a sense.
Then you have the ending lines.
I liked the message you had here. The environment is a key issue nowadays but I think this poem olds something more.
You liken a trees bark to skin and I think that could also be related to humans. We tend to forget the past and repeat our mistakes. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it but I feel this olds a deeper meaning than just trees.
Happy writing!
Hello! Happy Review Day!!!
I loved your poem, but I wanted to read more of it.
I had a hard time unravelling what it was about until I read defyingravity01 's review.
It is good for the author to give tips to the reader once in a while.
If you rewrite it in the future as a short story, telling us all the things this tree witnessed, you could explore it even deeper and richer than you did here. I wanted to see what every crack had lived. Please, write a short story for this. I really want to read it.
As I said, I want more of it!
It is really good! I always suggest to people to start poem's sentences with capital letters, but in this one it is perfect as it is.
Good job!
Okay. So I like what you've got here. It's short, sweet and very much to the point. I only knew you were writing this about trees because I saw your description. I'm a fan of your writing, and of your reviews. Just wanted to say that before I launched into the nitty gritty.
Here's the thing, It would be great if you could include something about bark or branches or something tree-ish just to give the audience an understanding of what this is about. One thing that bothers me is that you say trees are forgotten. In what way are they forgotten? As the reader, I disagree with that. If you're saying they are forgotten just because of pollution and how we use them so much, I'd have to disagree. We have people protecting trees and replanting and things like that. You might have a valid point but I don't know this because you didn't elaborate.
I love your imagery. I thought it was wonderful. Memories wining skyward with arms curving elegantly... this was full of imagery. Technicalities aside, this is beautiful. Thank you for writing it. I look forward to reading what else you can come up with. Have a happy review day, and keep writing!

True words of wisdom. As strange as the poem is, it makes perfect sense.
