Wounded

Im losing the battle.

I have been wounded.

I have been scarred.

My wounds are to great,
The battlefield,
Where I might lose my breath.

Im losing the battle.

I have been wounded.

I have been scarred.

I might not survive,
Through the cuts and burns,
Through the cannons and bombs,
Through the stabs of a sword,
And the shot of a gun.

Im losing the battle,
Scarred and wounded.

The capacity of human beings to bore one another seems to be vastly greater than that of any other animal.
