The gold shines through your crystal hair,
Curving around your etched porcelain face.
A single tear falls from your blue eyes,
Wetting the dust on your crimson cheeks.
I look up to wipe the tears away,
But I see nothing but the stone path.
Your words wander as you speak,
Lingering near you, as if waiting.
I reach out and they filter through my hands,
Like a forgotten dream from yesterday,
And I listen intently, wondering if the words are for me,
But I hear nothing but the crow’s mocking call.
Your hand reaches out to me,
Like winter yearning for sweet spring.
I long for the touch of your soft palm,
And my hand extends hesitantly, hoping,
Hands come together, our fingers touching,
But I feel nothing but an Angel of Stone.

Me again

I liked this poem because it had a very good use of the words. There was a lot of detail in the imagery and the way everything was described it sounded truly beautiful. I loved every stanza, and really there isn't much I can say here so I will not leave it as a review.
But what I didn't get was the meaning. It was about words unsaid, but why were they unsaid? Did someone they both know die, is the other person suffering in some way? I was just curious to know how they had gotten into this position. Other than that small clarification I wanted, this poem was superb. One of your better ones

I. have. no. idea. honestly. as to what the message is.

Thank you for the review, Livvy.
That was awesome but I noticed that you use 'but' a lot, you use that word two times in one sentence. It don't bothers me only you can change it in another word, maybe it has a better flow then? Anyaway your poem is great, the last line was so strong and it was an awesome end that describes the title very good, you have talent....
Angel of stone....woow what a line, it gives me the happiness that I need to survive today. It is also hope that I can find in that line, hope and happiness are two strong words, you have used that really good in one sentence, thumbs up and my compliments!
This poem gives me also some light...to light up the darkness in my head, this one can let me sing and it can let me see the good in the wrong. I said enough now and I go vote on this beautiful work of art, a powerful masterpiece!

The But shown is a repetitious line that I threw in there. I hope it wasn't annoying.
Thank you for your review!
It sounds like the narrator is talking about a porcelain figure. Am I right? I bet I am haha!
I don't know what an angel of stone is (probably because it has some biblical significance) but If you were telling me about it, I could definitely form a mental image and pass it onto a sheet of paper, if you used this poem to describe it. I don't quite understand why the poem was written in a centered format. Was it a formatting error or was this intended? If it was, know that it wasn't needed but isnt a real issue either. Well done.

Thank you for an amazing review! So I wrote it in a way that someone could see it as a statue or just a person that doesn't want anything to do with me. So either way! Yes, I just centered it that way!
Thank you again!
Hey! ajruby here to review!
I was fascinated by the word pictures you made in this poem. It really draws the reader into your mind. But I was a bit confused about why exactly this was an angel of stone. That whole picture wasn't quite coming together in my mind. Also, there was a couple places where the punctuation could use some fixing, such as:
"And my hand extends hesitantly, hoping, " The comma at the end should be a period, I believe.
All together, I love this poem and I think you're doing a marvelous job! Keep up the fantastic work!
Happy review day and may the reviews be ever in your favour!
Thank you for your wonderful review!
Hello!
This was quite a beautiful poem. I'm curious as to the meaning behind it. Maybe you're touching on loss? Or maybe want for something you can't have? I'm not quite sure what the essence of this poem truly is, but you wrote it in such an elegant way that it hardly matters! Except it does matter. It's important to have a point.
In the first stanza, you list all these features and this tear as if you were looking right at them, then you say that you see nothing but a stone path. Did the narrator look away for a second and this figure disappeared? Or was it not there in the first place? I'm not quite sure what happened.
I'm also not sure why this angel means so much to the narrator. Or why they are so entranced with her. Sometimes it's nice to have a concrete story line, but I'm not sure it's necessary here. Obviously I'm torn between saying this is perfect and saying you need a plot or something.
The words evoke a certain kind of mystery that just kind of hover, rather in the same way you're describing in the second stanza. Actually, my reaction to this poem is nicely described by the second stanza.
I think it would be cool if you used the word "stone" at the end of your second stanza so we can have that thread to hold onto. You have it at the end of the first and final stanza, so I think it would be cool to keep that pattern. Maybe you could say: "but all I hear is the mocking call from the raven's stone throat" or something.
Pretty much, this was perfect and delicate and beautiful. You really painted all the visuals in my head with absolute clarity. It was an absolute pleasure to read and I don't have many critiques at all. Great job! Keep writing!

Thank you for your review! It was amazing!
Hmmm... you say concrete... Well, it was intended as someone you see or meet, and while you are enthralled with them, but you can't break through a barrier that seperates you from them. I hope that helped!
I guess it does a little bit...
and wow, you got a whole bunch of reviews all at the same time, didn't you? XD
Yep! It was quite lovely, actually! Thanks for your amazing review, again! I will edit it after Review Day!
Hello servant! Took a break from your duties to write poems? I will have no nonsense! Get back and pour me more tea!
Okay first off I would like to say that the poem touched me, hurt me, and threw me on the ground. So basically your poem jumped me on the inside. It was a really interesting concept and I was wrapped in till the very last line. You did a good job with it! Very deep! One like from me!
Note: I am typing this on an ipad so bear with me!

hey there
i'm thinking to call you mr deep from now on , cause your works are very deep and AMAZING
so the whole poem is good and very organized , everypart contains 6 lines .
in other side it's full of vivid imagery , attractive descriptions .
1
"Our hands come together, our fingers touching,"
i didn't like the flow of this part , maybe it's because of repeating the word "our"
"Your words wander even as you speak," i think that the word "even" should be removed.
2
what i TOTALLY liked about this poem is how you ended each part with the same way "but...nothing but..." and that's soo creative .
my favourite part :
"The gold shines through your crystal hair,
Curving around your etched porcelain face.
A single tear falls from your blue eyes,
Wetting the dust on your crimson cheeks." great imagery here...
Thank you for your review, my friend!
I have edited those parts!
