Passion

In Poetry

Passion is a meaningless,
Wasteful thing,
And misunderstood.
Because hate is bitter and terrible and
Love is fickle and perverse now.
Passion is only a feeling of intensity,
Lifting one's spirit to the epitome of emotion.
But something that high will fall hard and fast,
Exposing and bringing into perspective
How mortal
We are.

To me, the first fiew lines felt angsty.

Passion is a meaningless,
Empty,
Wasted,
Wasteful thing,

...so I was thinking that the theme and feeling would only continue and leave you with a weak poem. I was surprised when it didn't though, because it actually tapped into something that's really powerful and expressive and at the same time relateable. Overall, I liked this, but I would work on tweaking the beginning, especially the first line.

Hey, I liked this poem! The overall mood you created was great and the language used was effective. I liked how the narrator's view shifted a bit, starting pessimistic and gaining hope with the lines

Passion is intense,
Lifting one's spirit to the epitome of emotion.

but then gaining its former disappointed tone with
But something that high will fall hard,
Exposing and bringing into perspective
How mortal
We are.

I found the last two lines particularly effective, rounding off the poem nicely and summing up everything. I would have liked it if this poem was just a little longer, but I don't really mind its length.
Passion is a meaningless,
Empty,
Wasted,
Wasteful thing,

I'm not quite sure about the repeat of "wasted, wasteful thing". Perhaps you could rephrase that part.
Overall good job!

I like this, it feels like you're saying passion is a bad thing because even though it's meant to be good, if you feel so strongly about something, you're going to be disappointed by it somehow, or by not being able to have it. Unrequited love, perhaps. I feel like you have too many adjectives in the first few lines - meaningless, empty, wasted, and wasteful. Though I do think it makes it sound like you're having a bit of a rant, which makes you sound angry, and passionate - passionate about not wanting to be passionate! So maybe this poem is ironic. I like the way the poem ends, sort of deflated and disappointed, like you say we all will be. Good job.

I like this, short and powerful in its views.
Also the structure was nice though I do think a bit more length would have been nice as it didn't make me feel the full emotion I think it has to potental to do. Though I do like it.
Overall a lovely poem.
Well done!
