Crush vs. Cookie

A crush

Is as constant as rain

Falling where it will

Coming and going

Drowning and blinding or

Light and leaving you cold.

Infatuation

Is as subtle as a hurricane

Raging over land and sea

Heart and mind

Overwhelming the senses

Leaving devastation in its path.

True Love

Is as ambiguous as a river.

True Love

Is as direct as a flame.

True Love

Is as proud as a pauper,

As negative as a proton,

As jarring as a feather.

As ultimately satisfying as a good cookie.

This is a succinct lyrical literary work about a crush, an infatuation, and true love. It's straightforward and understandable full of similes and metaphors. Each section of comparison to a simile or metaphor can be interpreted with ease. Though it may seem in-depth and analytical, these similes and metaphors to a crush, an infatuation, and true love is fairly digestible, its intentions of conveying what a crush, an infatuation, and true love is, is recognizable and hopefully easy to identify. Simple and sweet, to the point. I like it.

It was more of a description of differences, not really a pro/con thing--With just a hint of sarcasm thrown in, just for the heck of it. :)

Your title hooked me, so I had to read this. I'll admit I was expecting some more humor, which didn't come. However, I did like this- although I wasn't completely sure whether this is "pro" crush or against it. Are you saying true love is good or bad? Or are you just saying you can't be sure?
