This was the first time she had seen him
As more than just a face.
Now his face, this friend, he had a name,
And in her heart a place.
They each smiled and waved hello,
She playfully stood her ground,
he ran to her calling, "Embrace me,"
Then wrapped her up and spun around.
Acquantances, they hardly guessed
The future they would know.
How would tey? They were only strangers
Not so long ago.
Fellow Thespians, "drama kids,"
At a musical they met.
The chemistry was loud and clear,
Like a New York City set.
Poking, teasing, easy laughter,
And yet the girl could see
A longing pain behind his eyes
And thought, How can that be?
Hands covered her eyes, and "guess who"
Was whispered in her ear.
His touch was gentle, his voice was soft
And he was standing very near.
The lass knew in that moment
She must heal the lad.
She didn't know how she might help
But couldn't bear to see him sad.
They spoke oft, thought which he told
His joys and woes, hopes and pains.
Surprised, she learned of his loneliness
He feared would never change.
The sweet young lady charged herself
With the duty to prove him wrong.
As she lifted up his heart,
He pulled hers along.
Suddenly, shocked each realized
The height at which they stood.
The enormity of their growing love
Ruhed over them like a flood.
The fell hard and fast, but wouldn't stay down.
On updrafts of joy they rose,
Like an air-filled balloon pushed underwater
Then back to the surface it goes
Inside the balloon are a boy and a girl
Dancing on crystal-blue waves,
Brought up from the dark, crushing, silence-filled deep,
They each by the other were saved.
Great descriptions. You give a lot of really good visuals and personification that give it a lot of life. on top of it all your word choices are wonderful. My favorite part:
"The fell hard and fast, but wouldn't stay down.
On updrafts of joy they rose,
Like an air-filled balloon pushed underwater
Then back to the surface it goes"
Truly beautiful, way to go!

I think this is quite a cute poem, that reminds me of two young people who might well have been in school finding each other; or at least that is what I imagined. But at the same time they are both growing up quickly but helping each other along the way.

I love the last stanza because it really just summarises how when two people love each other, they save each other from being alone and grace each other with the love that you give to one other person.
I thought it was a really nice poem, good work
I like this poem! It's so majestic in my eyes. There are a few mistakes that, make this not entirely perfect, but since other have already pointed them out, i will not go through them.
Did I say I like this poem? Of course i did! :$:
Flow: Ah, here's something someone has not gone over! Your flow is seemingly perfect! No forced rhymes, no crazy fake words used on purpose. Everything is in sinc. In the motions, like a flock of migrating birds. Wonderful.
That's my review, hoped you liked it!

Acquantances, they hardly guessed
The future they would know.
How would tey? They were only strangers
Should be they
Not so long ago.
Poking, teasing, easy laughter,
And yet the girl could see
A longing pain behind his eyes
And thought, How can that be?
Either italize the "How can that be?" or insert quotations around it.
They spoke oft, thought which he told
This line doesn't make sense
His joys and woes, hopes and pains.
Surprised, she learned of his loneliness
He feared would never change.
Suddenly, shocked each realized
The height at which they stood.
The enormity of their growing love
Ruhed over them like a flood.
Should be rushed
The fell hard and fast, but wouldn't stay down.
Should be they
On updrafts of joy they rose,
Like an air-filled balloon pushed underwater
Then back to the surface it goes
Inside the balloon are a boy and a girl
Dancing on crystal-blue waves,
Brought up from the dark, crushing, silence-filled deep,
They each by the other were saved.
Love the way you ended this!
First off, let me say I'm not normally a huge fan of love poems. However, you nailed this! The imagery is fantastic and left me wanting more. You didn't harp on all of the typical cliche things that love poems like to dwell on. Bravo my dear! Keep writing, I'll keep reading!

While I was reading this poem , my mind created this utopian magical romantic scene of two people who , by fate, were brought together .
I Particularly enjoyed the way you described this classic encounter of "love at first sight" that brought hope for love back into my heart .
Even though I haven't yet experienced the energy of New York City , you have successfully enriched my imagination of the music the city itself creates .
Your conclusion you have used metaphors well when writing "Inside the balloon are a boy and a girl ,dancing on crystal-blue waves" . This stanza draws the destiny of your two characters amazingly .
Excellent imagery . I was not for one moment bored .
I love this poem

The first stanza starts really well, its strong.
I like the: Dancing on crystal-blue waves part. The conclusion is as strong as your opening and the poem in general is filled with emotion.
Beautiful poem great work
Luxury here to review this poem of yours!
It reminds me of reading a story. I can imagine both people...
There are annoying errors here and there that have no excuse of being there. You can fix those up and increase the quality a great deal.
5 is one of my favorite stanza's: It has a charm and a beautiful flow. All of it flows nicely, but it is crudely interrupted in the second to last stanza. I think it would be better if you re-wrote this part. The first and third lines seem forced and out of place, while the second and fourth are not doing each other any favors, like they should. It makes the conclusion weaker and lessens the poem's beauty. Make revisions so that it flows more eloquently, then read the revisions out loud and make sure they sound natural, still conveying the message you want to get across.
The ending is perfect just the way it is. "They each by the other were saved". <3 Love that.
It is a great poem, all I can really say is work on getting the natural flow right and proofread all your work to make sure there aren't any spelling or word errors.
Thank you for the good read <3 I loved the poem, it had such a good story to it.
Hello Sassykat! A pleasant day to you. (By the way, thats a really cool nickname!) Okay, lets go. VRYX here to review your work entitled "Each by the Other"
Great work!!!
Initially, you have a good lengthed poem here, not too short and not too long... plus you made it consistent so I never got tired reading it as your story flow continues. With the concept, I find it romantic with a pinch of excellence on your part, great job. I can say your poem touched me as a reader.
I liked how you started and introduced the story in a poetic verse.Although typical, not everyone is brave enough to write as such;
This was the first time she had seen him
As more than just a face.
Now his face, this friend, he had a name,
And in her heart a place.
They each smiled and waved hello,
She playfully stood her ground,
he ran to her calling, "Embrace me,"
Then wrapped her up and spun around.
You really packed a twist of events here,
Poking, teasing, easy laughter,
And yet the girl could see
A longing pain behind his eyes
And thought, How can that be?
Hands covered her eyes, and "guess who"
Was whispered in her ear.
His touch was gentle, his voice was soft
And he was standing very near.
I loved this part, but I liked the poem in general. Although there were some tolerable typographical errors, I commend you for a great flowing rhythm and the well played words as such;
The fell hard and fast, but wouldn't stay down.
On updrafts of joy they rose,
Like an air-filled balloon pushed underwater
Then back to the surface it goes
And to sum up your master piece, I loved the conclusion
Inside the balloon are a boy and a girl
Dancing on crystal-blue waves,
Brought up from the dark, crushing, silence-filled deep,
They each by the other were saved.
Very fantastic poem.Keep writing! VRYX here
