You Are Worth It

In Poetry

Although I have not actually seen you,

Although I cannot physically touch you,

I do feel close to you and I do know you.

I tell you my secrets and you tell me yours,

We wait patiently for each other and we

Go crazy when we don't see one another.

I suffer from constant insecurity

and am clouded by many questions.

Why would he want me, choose me?

This is our routine and its' not typical.

Some people doubt our success

But with you I feel perfect and it is worth it.

You are worth it.

Heya, Radiant Shadow! Casanova here for a review!

Anyway, the only thing I really disliked in this poem was the over usage of the word,"you." You could really help yourself out by not using this ass constantly, so it's not feeling as repetitive as it is now. Your first four lines at the end use a tense of,"you," and it got tiresome to read after awhile. Anyway, onward.
I like how you didn't use rhyme in this besides those four lines, and it really worked with the poem. I think you should keep that up and not rhyme, it really doesn't constrict you like the rhyming does.
The other thing is when you're not rhyming, still try to put imagery into it. You're giving us a shopping list of things we're supposed to see, and I'm not feeling anything from this because it's all just listed like a grocery list. I would say change that, and try to find images that fit what you want and play around with them. I promise you you won't be dissapointed.
Anyway, the next thing is I can tell is that you have put emotion into this. And I get that, but this seems more like venting to me than anything else, and I think you should put more thought behind images and contain your emotion- letting it out where it's needed.

That's all I have to say on this one, I hope it helped at least a bit.

Keep on doing what you're doing, and keep on keeping on.

Your friend, Matt

This is Yams here for a review on Review Day!

To be honest, this felt really weak to me. It had no /personal/ experiences you had with the person you're talking about in the poem. I like to say that these types of poems are written to anonymous, by anonymous. Anyone could've written them and that's because there's no actual personal things put into the poem or personal experiences. Putting signifigant things into a poem makes it stronger. Say a guy got a girl a cat keychain. She might put that in her poem about holding onto it or something for all that time.

There weren't any stanzas in this poem so I suggest putting a "~" when you break the stanzas up so everyone knows where you start and stop. It helps to see the structure in the poem when you leave the stanzas in, unless this poem is only one stanza? But I can see it working better as two, to be honest.

I think you could've done more with the long-distance stuff as it seems the narrator is in a long-distance relationship with a person and maybe do more about them having insecurities like the person on the other side being a liar of some sort? You could've also added in some sort of want to touch the person on the other side but you can't because it's long distance.

This poem had a lot of wasted potential in my opinion. The best part of it was probably the concept, but everything else kind of fell flat to me.

That's all I have for you today, have a great day!

This is such a nice poem! I had a really good time reading it, and the last line particularly touched me. In this society, we are so quick to criticise, and we always try and pull each other down to look better. This is written really well, and it addresses an important issue in society: That we are so insecure we have to tear down other people's security. Well done!

Thank you! You got exactly my point!

Hi RadiantShadow, acm here for a short review!
Since I really loved this poem, my review's going to be mostly small suggestions or nitpicks which you can take if you want to. The part I liked most about the poem, though, is how it evolves from the main character second guessing themselves with their insecurity to when they're sure that the relationship is worth it. Lots of poems have a theme that goes nowhere throughout the piece, but this was perfect. Even though it was short, it had a satisfying start and end. I just have a few things I would fix:

Why would he want me,choose me?

There needs to be a space after the comma, which is a small mistake, but can be easily fixed.

This is our routine and its not typical.

Here, I think you need an apostrophe in the word 'its'. Since you're saying that that it is not typical, then the word different from the possessive form.

That's all I have for things to fix. Overall, I thought this was an amazing poem with a great message. I can't wait to read more of your poetry!
