When Will We Start

In Song Lyrics

All of these people going different places
Worshiping false ideals
Trying to search for enlightenment
Only to find it wasn't real

Pre - Chorus

How can we let this happen
Do we even care?
When will we spread the message
That there is hope out there?

Chorus:

For everyone
Who accepts the Son.
Oh they will be saved
By his wonderful love.
So when will we start
This simple change
Of telling others
About His amazing grace?
(2x)When will we start?(2x)

Verse 2

All of these people going different directions
Reaching for the American dream.
Acting as if that will save them
From their eternal destines.

Back to Pre - Chorus

Then to Chorus.

Bridge:

This is a revolution!
This is a time to rise!
Raise your weapons and ready for war
This battle's not done it has just begun.
The end times are upon us now!
So stand firm and stand your ground.
And go and tell the rest of the world
There is hope, there is hope!

End with Chorus

I like it even though the message is simple. It is clear so it cannot be misconstrued, and it is a great battle cry. When are people gonna stop being so complacent? I see some lines that I like that not everyone touches on like searching for enlightenment to learn it wasn't real, and caring about the here and now with the American Dream. It sounds similar to skillet which is really cool. We need voices to spur the movement on. Awesome song.

When I read this through the first time, I noticed one point that I didn't quite agree with,

"When will we spread the message
That there is hope out there?"

I was thinking that this was out of place, as you are talking about starting, or rather, joining the revolution to spread Christ's word. Then I realized that His word is hope, and that's the whole point.

Now, I will say that this point has been over abused in the genre of Christian music. There are a lot of "bands" out there that are all saying the exact same thing in the exact same way, and just spouting out what they've all ready heard. This is dangerous, as it causes people to believe. What I mean by that is, the believe not in the word itself, but in the emotions and the thoughts that are stirred up by listening to the music. Once the music stops, so does their belief. So you have to be careful.

But I can't harp much on anyone trying to do good through a medium which does a lot of bad, so props to you and every other person that has written similar material.

Thank you WindSailor!
