Verse 1:
I was tired and all
alone
My burdens were all my own
That’s what it was like to be without You
My depression piled high
Higher than the sky
I felt the weight of all my sorrows
There was no relief for my soul
Nowhere for me to go
But You gave me a place to rest in Your arms
Even though I cursed Your name
You brought me back with loving grace
And now I am free
Chorus:
You’re the only thing I need, oh God
You’re the maker of the Heavens, giver of life
And only You can satisfy
You’re the sacrificial Lamb, Jesus
Perfect Son of God, the One who bore the cross,
Only You can satisfy
Verse 2:
I screamed and yelled at my friends
Not for anything they did
I was just a stupid jerk
I was proud and arrogant
‘Cause I thought I had the evidence
To prove them wrong, but that wasn’t the case
And how ignorant I had to be
To chase that which is earthly
To find some source of happiness
Money, fame it’s all a lie
That’s not the reason to live Your life
That’s not the goal; it’s not worth the time
Chorus:
You’re the only thing I need, oh God
You’re the maker of the Heavens, giver of life
And only You can satisfy
You’re the sacrificial Lamb, Jesus
Perfect Son of God, the One who bore the cross,
Only You can satisfy
Bridge:
When everyone around me leaves
I remember You’re the only thing I need
When every other thing fails
I know that my God never will (repeat)
Chorus:
You’re the only thing I need, oh God
You’re the maker of the Heavens, giver of life
And only You can satisfy
You’re the sacrificial Lamb, Jesus
Perfect Son of God, the One who bore the cross,
Only You can satisfy

HELLO EMERALD IS HERE FOR DA REVIEWS!!!
I don't listen to allot of christian music, sometimes I do and only sometimes I enjoy it...
But I have to say I really do like these lyrics, Is sure do.
Everything fits together nicely and I just think its a work of art, a work of art indeed.
I don't have any nitpicks which I find great! NO HURTING PEOPLES FEELINGS! WOO!
My favorite part is the chorus of course, love it!
Ok well I think that's all for me see you later!

I like the singing accompaniment, it makes it much easier to see how the lyrics are meant to sound and effectively critique. Keep it up for your pieces even if you don't do full orchestration every time.
This stanza needs reworking. The metaphors are all pretty lazy, and it stands out. Not judging you, it can be easy to slip some of these in if you aren't paying attention, but I'd highly suggest getting more original ideas to convey this same idea but in a more specific and evocative way, instead of cliche simplistic imagery.
This is a problem stanza as well. The overall tone is very jarring compared to every other stanza in the poem, it doesn't fit. Informal language and a specific scene being laid out instead of metaphorical reference as you employ throughout the rest of the work. If you edit it, make sure to slightly alter the next stanza too, with something not referring to a specific group of people.
Overall, this is a pretty decent spiritual song. Your meter and rhyming scheme stays consistent throughout which is quite nice. It is, however, a bit difficult to work out. I'd suggest formatting more like this?

Aside from the odd awkward wording, it's pretty good! Keep writing and improving!
Hope I helped,

I was talking to Unconsoled about his imaginary girlfriend, and it reminded me of you.
Just checking in. PM me when you get this.
That was beautiful. I like it very much. Would you ever consider putting a song version of it online? I'd love to hear it sung someday. It sounds like a great worship tune, by Hillsong or something.
Keep it up!
Just wanted to point out, there's a link of him singing it, at the top.
(I think that's him singing it, at least?)
Oh I missed that. Sorry, but did you write this or did someone else? Thanks for the link.
I wrote it, and yes, that is me singing.
Nice!
