Man 7 cups of tea can be a great site, but don't get on there as a listener if you're just going to leave people hanging. I'm already stressed out and kinda fed up with today and that's not exactly what I needed. I don't expect you to have an answer or even know what to say but just knowing someone is listening and I am not alone is amazing.

Wow, it's been a long time since I have been around these parts. A lot has changed in my life. I am engaged now to the girl I've been for the past 4 years. Might start being on here more again but we'll see.

I was wondering - what made you change your mind on Christianity and become an atheist? I was just wondering (as an atheist who has been one their entire life, I was just thinking of your perspective?).
WindSailor Man that's a tough question to answer. I couldn't give you a simple response. It was never just one thing that swayed me from my religion. It went away layer by layer as I considered if I had any reason to believe x, y, or z.
Maybe the strongest reason I am an atheist is because I just don't see God. When I look into the world it seems pointless and without any direction. When I was a kid they taught me God designed the universe for us. If the universe was designed for anything it is for the creation of black holes. Most of the universe could never support our life and so it begs the question, why create so much if we are the sole most important thing to God? Of course this is among the many reasons I don't believe and is not the only or necessarily the strongest but it's good food for thought.
Most importantly the reason I don't believe and why I believe no one should is that the burden of proof hasn't been met. And that is honestly the only thing anyone should ever have to say. I don't believe because I am not convinced. If you think you are prove it and I'll believe you.
Sorry went on a little tirade there but hopefully it gets you to understand my perspective. Feel free to message me or further ask me questions here. I love talking about this topic and could do it all day.

In other news I stopped working working on my response essay. I am still working on one but much more narrow in scope. I am going to work on many essays in the future but one issue at a time. Trying to tackle every issue at once is just setting myself up to not be in-depth enough. So stay tuned.

I don't think I like the life I am living now but I am too afraid to change it. I want something different. I am so apathetic at this point. Just have to keep working on myself and fuck the world around me. I might have some big changes in life soon or I'll just settle for the same shit that has made my life hell. Let's be honest probably the latter.
