On the cross where Jesus died,
My sins were taken far away.
No longer bound by chains.
I am free, I am free!

Jesus, Jesus
You broke the chains that kept me from you.
Jesus, Jesus
You have all power there is nothing you can't do.
I am free!

Verse 2
In the tomb where Jesus was laid,
He rose and conquered the grave.
No longer a captive slave.
I am free, I am free!

Chorus:
Jesus, Jesus
You broke the chains that kept me from you.
Jesus, Jesus
You have all power there is nothing you can't do.
I am free!

In Heaven where I'll reside,
Your peace will fill my life.
Forever satisfied.
We'll be free, we'll be free!

WindSailor, excellent song you have here. I believe I followed you, am I wrong or am I write? Haha.
I think Verse 2 has absolutely nothing to do with how you are free. You're talking about how Jesus rose out of his grave, and then you completely switch points and say you're free. Make up your mind, please.
And, just another option, you can also add a prechorus, if you have any other ideas for this. It doesn't have to be the same thing, it can vary.
Hey,
wisegirl22
I was actually pleasantly surprised by your work. At the title I'm free I was expecting a cliché song about yourself or in a most general case a break up or a love song. But not you surprised me when I say it was a gospel lyrical. At the time I was reading this all I could see was the bible stories of the lord and going back to the worshipping we did in church. :3 I enjoyed the markings of you throughout as you said " I'm free." it kept it close to heart and more enjoyable to take part in reading. The ending chorus though is what made me smile the " we'll be free" because it takes my thoughts to making up for your sins to one day be free and live with the lord. Well done and keep writing
Another great piece of religious lyrics!
As soon as I read this I was thinking about the realise of mankind of sin through the crucifixion of Jesus. And what a lovely way of putting it.
The lyric pattern fits naturally into tunes; It is impossible to read this without creating a tune to match it.
A minor criticism is the third line of the third verse; I don't think it should be a line on it's own, cause it breaks the rhythm somewhat. Perhaps use a semicolon at the end!
Also in the chorus I think there should be a comma after power, to make it make sense easier; It distracts somewhat.
Hope this helps,
Take That You Fiend!
oh wow I wish I was free, this poem was very peaceful and strong. Filled with a lot of cheer also and my favorite line is I am free, I am free! that was a pleasant read that makes me happy.
Now I'm not really someone that prays and believes in Jeus but this poem let me think different, it has changed me.
Your poem had a nice flow and rythm, it brings a lot of questions also, that is really good from you. I voted on this one cause it was it worth it,

Romans 10:9 says "If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. This is where freedom begins, trusting in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. You also can be free through Jesus' death on the cross. Just believe in Him and follow Him. I am glad you liked it, and that it changed you. If you have any questions message me.
Thanks
Hey! ajruby here for a quick (I hope..) review!
I really like these lyrics! But just a couple suggestions.
1. Maybe a little more variety in your words and longer stanzas would be better.
2. "You have all power there is nothing you can't do." Maybe add an "and" or make it two seperate sentences.
Again, I really love you posting these wonderful lyrics! It's great to see these things circling around websites and in people's mind. Keep up the awesome work!
Happy Review day and may the reviews be ever in your favour!

http://roaming-initiative.com/mediagobl ... free-8c40/ Here is a recording of how it sounds. Not the greatest singe, but I hope you get an idea of how it is supposed to go(at least rhythm wise. Vocally I would love to see it be much higher, I tend to write songs in ranges I could never reach soo yeah
).
Hi there

This is a really beautiful song. I don't know how you would sing it, but in my head it sounded really good.
I'm a huge fan of contemporary Christian music, and honestly this was better than some songs that are played on the radio. Congrats on that
I really like how these lyrics follow the basic story of the gospel and manage to summarize it all without getting too... well I like to call it "when-you-hear-something-for-the-thousandth-time." Sometimes Christian songs repeat each other so much that the message is lost. This song is different, but still the same, which is actually a good thing. It's all in the presentation
Keep writing!

I really loved this piece because it's Christian and it has lyrics. I like the repetitiveness of the "I am free, I am free." The only thing I don't like is the disrupt of rhythm in the chorus. I'm going to treat this as a poem because I have no idea how you were planning to sing this.
I think it would sound better like this,
"Jesus, Jesus,
You broke chains that kept me from you,
Jesus, Jesus,
You're almighty, with nothing you can't do."
Again, I'm not sure how this is supposed to be sung, but I think this rhythm works better just reading it as a poem. I otherwise I really liked this, and I loved the message you conveyed. May the Lord bless you.

Thanks for the review! I can see how the chorus may look to break the rhythm, but when it is played it sounded fine to me. It is hard to explain how it is meant to sound. I might upload a video of how it is meant to go.
