Bolshevik Beat

Spoiler! :
Tried to use musical devices when I wrote this. Kind of random but inspired by dramatic beat poems.

Capital accumulates -
like sand in an hourglass,
squeezing through a breach,
a not so new financial feat.

Shake a fist at
Fat ass cats,
on Wall Street.
Call your senator!

See if they care:
harebrained concur -
rence, mincing words!
Dare to be a citizen?

Or join all the herds -
The din of collective,
concrete-crawling,
annoyances.

Excellent Poem! I find goverment and other social/cultural issues to be an excellent topic for literary inspiration. My one critique would be that the rythmic repitious tone, and the use of the word "collective" alludes to a sence of sameness that is more attributable to socialism or communism then it is to capitalism.

Nice and fun to read. It made me laugh. You have nicely achieved a good beat and rhythm. Personally I don't find your poem hard to understand but I do know a little bit about the good old dirty commies. I understand how you are writing about Communism and capitalism but the confusing thing is how you seem to be writing about America but your title is distinctively Russian but maybe I'm just being nit picky. Also your first stanza seems different from the others but that seems to just add to the overall feeling of the poem. It's as if the first stanza is like a prologue, maybe the cause of the anger in the other stanzas.

Great work!

I would first like to mention that it was your title which drew me in. Hooray for alliteration.

Secondly, I would like you to know that I understood the first stanza, but after that, you lost me. I still enjoyed reading the poem, because it was nice and short with fun words to read, and it felt nice and poetic when I was reading it aloud. But it would help if I knew what the poem is trying to tell me.

Anyways, I don't have many useful things to say. Terribly sorry about that. All I can say is you've done a wonderful job with diction, rythm, (and of course the title), but the deeper meaning is a tad too ambiguous at least for my brain.
Thanks for the interesting read :)
