I want to shut my ears,
I don't want to hear it anymore,
No more voices lamenting
Things we cannot change,
Ridiculous theories
About events
That may never happen.
Get your grumping out of here,
Speak your useless gossip to the trees,
Quit tearing down your fellow humans,
And quit elevating people
Who weren't all that great
In the first place.
Let go of dreams that have died,
And learn to build new ones
Of a different kind.
When will we stop letting our lives be controlled
By what we can't change
And start investing in
The things we can?

Honestly, if we could all do this our world would possibly have a chance at being better
"I want to shut my ears,

I loved your poem the part you also talked about "ridiculous theories about events that may never happen" we tend to either live in the past or worry about the future as humans and we forget the moment ,this moment, a present to us.
Also when you said let go of dreams that have died was kinda deep to me.
Your poem is lovely it should be a sermon honestly, we need to hear more of this in our daily lives
Thank you
Your poem seems to really apply to everyday life. Too often, other people tear other people down. And for what? Do they have their own insecurities, hidden anger, mental/physical abuse, we may never know. What we do know is that people, being human, tend to tear other people down. Sometimes we do not mean to hurt others but still do. Emotions are a hard thing to control and an even harder thing to understand.
This is so beautiful! I really enjoyed the topic and found it easy to relate to life and the things I've seen. It's amazing to see how many people have so many different experiences, but can relate on so many levels, as well. If you wanted, you could make it longer and pull in examples and deeper language. Keep it up!
This poem is about people talking about things they cannot change, going on and on about all of the problems in life.At the same time, they can’t do anything about it,so why prattle one and one about the unchangeable things? Why continue useless talk,as this poem calls it? Why,just why? I hope that you have a lovely and amazing day and night.
Well ain't this painful? Hiya, I'm penn, and this is...
Well, I'll say it. Useless talk is something I've partaken in aplenty, and something that's annoyed me aplenty, though that's only because I don't like going out in the first place.
I like lines 8-13. Tearing down others and elevating not-so-great people are, unfortunately, common, but being able to recognize that doesn't do much unless you're willing to change it in the first place.
14-16 are my favorite, if only because it's telling you that your dead dreams are still only dreams, and that you can always build new ones. You can change your way of thinking, hopefully for the better. Of course, I could be reading into it a bit too much, but it's a nice thought
Grammar is good, punctuation is nice, I keep reading this like it's supposed to rhyme and when it doesn't it annoys me slightly, but that's my fault for reading it's supposed to rhyme. I like it. It gives off a good vibe of what people think of such talk, and hopefully they won't need to resort to talking to trees by the end of this poem. Two thumbs out of two!
