Little black flower,
Don't shrink away and hide,
Don't think you have less value
Than the blooms of morningtide.
Though some may see you as a blunder
Or consider you a blight,
They only fail to see your beauty
Because they're short of sight.
You're not a flaw in any garden,
So don't believe those lies;
Don't think of yourself as a symbol of death,
For you have a purpose for being alive.
So remember if you doubt your worth
Next to those of brighter hue,
That the One who painted the rainbow,
Delighted to make you, too.

Hello there @WinnyWriter,
There are these weird, fascinating things in life that some people fail to notice, but they are really more than you think. Does a small black flower stand out in a field of only colorful flowers? How do we find the answer?
I must say it is amazing how you managed to create such a beautiful poem out of just one flower. Poems tend to have some hidden emotion in them, that would be the art of poems, they can carry the weight of things with their beautifully descriptive words that help create the perfect image in your mind as if you were experiencing exactly the same thing as the writer. Poems tell a story in a rather short and unique way, the story of your poem here comes across very strongly. Your way of encouraging the little black flower to just be herself is heart touching.
I love both flowers and poems with a touch of weirdness, or fascination if you will, and it seems that I've got the perfect weird potion in my hands that contains all the magical ingredients needed to express certain feelings, or in this case, to encourage the flower. Such a potion can only be made by someone with truly magical hands, sprinkling the last bit of magic as the final ingredient into the poem.
As for answering my question, yes, the little black flower does stand out, and even more so after reading this poem and realizing that everyone and everything is different and unique in their very own weird way.
Your poem just made my day and I'm glad I got to read it. You have a very unique writing style and imagination, the fact that you notice these small but beautiful things in life is incredible. You have encouraged me to write such poems too. The little black flower will be noticed, along with all the other beautiful flowers in the field.

All flowers are beautiful, even black ones. Even if the flowers that are brighter are more desirable, the black flowers still have value. They could grow, or they could have their petals pressed into jewelry or journals, maybe even be crushed and put into a bowl. But all of the flowers hold an importance. Every last one of them. Flowers were made to be beautiful, weren’t they?
I wish you an amazing day/night.
Wow, this poem is great! I'm surprised no one's reviewed it because it's amazing! So anyways, here's my review:
First Impressions: Your poem is really well-written, I love the metaphor of the little black flower because a lot of this poem can relate to the real world about people being undervalued and not being recognized.
This is a great start already, the repetition helps add emphasis and reinforces your message. Nice, nice.
So, I love this quote:
Beautiful! Such a short but important message, I love how you rhymed 'blight' and 'sight', it compared how people see the flower and it's true beauty. I love it!
Now, this is my favorite part of the poem. And it's even better that it's the ending because it leaves an even greater effect on the reader (especially me!) It's such a lovely message you've written about and I'm sure it's very relatable for many people.
If I could try and suggest an improvement, it would be that some of the lines feel a bit choppy, and could be smoothed out to improve the overall rhythm.
Overall, your poem is short which is great because it helps the reader focus on the main message instead of reading a whole essay-like poem about being recognized and their worth in this world. It's really sweet and is a beautiful reminder of the value and worth of every individual, regardless of how they may be perceived by others. I love it, especially the whole metaphor of the flower.
Great work!
