Love Is Deeper

https://soundcloud.com/hsarvermusic/love-is-deeper

Verse 1:

I‘ve seen the explanations for so many things so far
Like why the sky is blue and how we know that’s a star
I’ve seen the many theories and it amazes me
How we define time and space with relativity
But when it comes to love everyone just kinda stops
And then start to ponder it inside their thoughts

Chorus:

Why’s it so hard for us to explain love
When it practically makes us who we are
Maybe because there is more going on
More than we can see with our two eyes

Verse 2:

Why have so many people try to describe love
Through letters, songs, and poems yet it’s never been enough
So we’ll keep trying, we’ll keep doing it some more
But we’ll never find a definition that we settle for
For love is a mystery so wonderful and vast
It goes beyond imagination, it goes beyond the facts

Chorus:

Why’s it so hard for us to explain love
When it practically makes us who we are
Maybe because there is more going on
That we can’t see with our eyes.

Bridge:

Love is stronger
Love is greater
Love always wins
Love never quits

Love goes deeper
Love stays longer
Love never fails
Love will prevail (repeat)

Chorus

Why’s it so hard for us to explain love
When it practically makes us who we are
Maybe because there is more going on
That we can’t see with our eyes. (Repeat 2x then end)

Hi WindSailor!

I really liked your lyrics. If this were a song on a radio it would become one of my favorites and I'd be singing it constantly because the lyrics themselves are very catchy.

Also I really liked the message and the meaning behind these lyrics. You illustrate the mystery of love and how no one really knows what it is and how hard it is to understand.

All in all I really liked it :)

PS: A project I'm currently working on requires me to write my own original lyrics but I have no experience with them and every time I try they don't turn out too well. Do you have any advice?

Thanks. As far as lyrics go, it is a process, and it requires patience. Just like many things, writing lyrics is full of trial and error. Generally when I go to write a song, I already have a concrete idea of what the song is about, and possibly even a few lines of that song. Just like if you were to write a book, you would have an outline, a song is very similar.

I would start by making an outline for it. That details what the songs is about, some strong imagery or lines (possibly metaphors) that would like to possibly incorporate, and how you want that song to make people feel.
With all that said, it is a challenging thing, and I wouldn't label myself any kind of expert, but I do have experience. I would be happy to look over your lyrics and try and help you any way I can. Just message me or chat me up if you would like some help.

Thank you so much for the advice. When I reach the point in my project where I have to devote a lot of time to the lyrics then I'll definitely take you up on that offer :)

Hey there!

I really really liked your lyrics. You're right, love can never be defined no matter how many poets and authors think they've found what actually does it mean. Its something too powerful and too mysterious and sometimes it takes a person 60 years or 1 min to realize what it is. We can never see it from our naked eyes but the moment it will touch us emotionally its presence will be too hard to let it go easily until we've been through a lot in its presence and to be honest not everyone can write poems about love which goes so aptly and i really enjoyed the way you sums up this tragedy perfectly! Keep writing, Thank you.

Hello, WindSailor.

I actually quite liked this. While love is a subject that comes up in poetry and lyrics abundantly too often, I think you might have actually brought something new to the table this time.

I do have a few things to discuss about your lyrics, though.

I'm not a big fan of the last line of your chorus. If you're going to make this about god and stuff, then say it right out instead of slipping it in like you're being secretive and making people ponder the unknown.

In the second verse, I think it would be wise to say that we settle for something being enough, and then after a while hunger for the "correct definition" of love again, our need for different kinds of love redefining ourselves and our search for love in different ways. If that makes sense. When you say it isn't enough, I don't think that's true, because different definitions of love at different times in our lives are good enough, but because love is changing and ever evolving, we have to keep searching for it. I don't know, I just think it's something good to think about.

I hope all of my rambling will make some sense to you! Nice job thinking about luv and stuffs. Have a great day, and happy YWSing!

I wrote the chorus that way to be open-ended, it doesn't necessarily refer to God. People always have told me I write songs so that it is too obvious to what I am saying, so I am trying to let people interpret it how they will. Some might say that means God, other may not see it that way. And I kind of understand what your saying with the second verse. Thanks for the review.

Hey! Your song sounds great and I don't have any nitpicks at all.

I‘ve seen the explanations for so many things so far
Like why the sky is blue and how we know that’s a star
I’ve seen the many theories and it amazes me
How we define time and space with relativity
But when it comes to love everyone just kinda stops
And then start to ponder it inside their thoughts

This first verse was by far my favourite. It's a lot more complicated than most songs, mentioning relativity and knowing why the sky is blue. The way you sing it is also good, because you don't speed through the longer words, there is a nice, smooth tune.

Why’s it so hard for us to explain love
When it practically makes us who we are
Maybe because there is more going on
That we can’t see with our eyes.

I just had a thought. You said that love makes us who we are, well, can we ever truly define ourselves? We can't define love, because we can't define ourselves. :p

The bridge was also awesome, that slight rhyming at the end was a good touch (whether it was intended or not). Keep writing songs, they're good!
