A/N: This is the result of several counselling sessions at school to which I remain as stubborn as ever. It's free verse in the sense that it rhymes in some places while it doesn't in others. ...Review?
Liquefied,
empty,
the silence stones me.
My heart beats, its sound
amplified,
and it shrivels up inside me,
willing the lights to dim
instead of burning through me,
so my fear catapults to the brim.
My vision quakes, my voice surrenders
to the blank metal faces before me.
I gulp down my fear, but it only
pulls at me harder.
“Speak,” the rhythm of the voices says,
“Speak,’" they say, and call, and plead,
“We know there’s a voice in there somewhere.”
But all I want to remotely do is scream.
I've padlocked my lips,
you can’t make me move,
even though my thoughts throb fit to burst.
My mind’s a gymnasium,
but if you cut the noose,
my songs will arch past my cranium
and I’m afraid I’ll lose them
in the galaxies strewn before me;
out of reach, out of harness, out of mind.
So I’d rather they remain out of speech
so they can bind
me together,
and keep me from breaking
So hear me shout:
“You can’t make me,
you won’t make me,
you'll never make me speak.”
The crowd applauds – quick, hasty claps.
My shoulders loosen, my thoughts relax,
And I smirk wildly,
because they haven’t heard me speak yet.
If they heard me speak, they’d be scathed for life,
so I hold my thoughts tight, deep in, deep down.
I retreat to silence and wordlessly drown
in myself.
"You’ll never make me,
you’ll never shake me,
you’ll never hear me
speak."

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
Your poem reminded me of this quote, and also of Momo, a children's novella my G&T teacher recommended. I remember my best friend reading the first chapter and not understanding it. "This author makes no sense. How can Momo cure people's problems just by listening?"
I was a little disappointed. Now, she was the kind of friend who couldn't grasp "empathy," only ever suggesting that I "calm down." Or telling me how I should've reacted.
Thank you for submitting this. Unlike others, I don't consider shyness a negative trait. Heck, shyness is my armor. I live the day with philosophy fused with common thoughts, all of these half-formed ideas choking my consciousness. Call me crazy. But that's why I write.

You happen to be my 100th. But this is such a wonderful piece, there's not much to say!
The words fit together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Not to mention that: the lines were broken in the right places, the rhyming contributed to the meaning, your grammar is flawless, and, once again, the figurative language tied everything together. I especially love the lines:
Just three minor nitpicks:
Not sure what's meant by "liquefied." The narrator's thoughts are liquefied? The words "empty" and "liquid" don't really compliment each other, either.
The last line implies that "silence" is a murderer, which doesn't look the case in the rest of the poem. Entombed in silence, maybe?
Shriveling again
Smirk wildly?
Overall, fabulous job. Keep it up! Looking forward to your next post!
This is a very interesting poem. It's deep and thoughtful, but yet revealing. I had enjoyed reading it and could feel your feelings as they were clearly represented. I don't have to may things I found wrong with the poem the only thing is that I found the line:
so my fear catapults to the brim.
a little bit confusing because I feel that it isn't finished. Aside from that your analogies were very meaningful and I could easily see your talent and passion for poetry throughout the whole piece. Great Job!

Review? Review.
This is sooo strange! Is this based on a real experience?
I found the line
"You can't make me,
You won't make me,
You'll never make me speak. "
a little confusing, as it gave me the impression thay you had said it out loud, which was against the point of the whole exercise! Call me stupid if you wish*.
Apart from this, top marks on every other score,
Take That You Fiend!
