Just Gah.

Every single day
is a corpse of shattered rhythm.
Every single day,
the words take even longer to come.
The crowds pulsate, they crow, they cry.
And it's so hard to breathe.
Can it be called claustrophobia,
to be afraid of open spaces?
I feel so
in. sig. ni. fi. cant.
So broken and so small.
The world tells me I'm
de- lu -ded.
I'm a mute, a vacant space
in the broken plaster.

"Sometimes, I wish I could run away.
Far far away where no one knows who I am.
And nobody cares.
I just want to drown in my self-pity.
I want to cry once, and cry alone.
No sympathy, no empathy, no worried smiles."
Just please go away, world. Just please go away.

I wouldn't call myself suicidal.
And I'm not a coward.
I'm afraid of being me because
the world might not accept it.
You could call me weak.
You could call me stressed.
Heck, you might even step so far
as to say that I'm depressed.

You could tell me that I'm useless;
an introverted ich.
You could tell me I'm a piece of gum
stuck to the soles of your shoe.
But you'll never tell me to be myself.
I know the world well, almost as well as I know me.
And the world's a black hole, where light and laughter can't live.

My tears are falling faster. I don't care if my verses aren't broken up right.
I don't care. I don't care.
My heart's yelling inside my ribs. Clanging like a gong.
I need to get all of this out --
I feel like an atomic bomb.
Who knew that the speechless
could be so volatile?
I'm burning up.

Someone please help me.

Hi there! Gaurav here for a review! I am really glad I read your poem. While many may perceive it as a sad and depressing poem, I find it rather profound. What I really liked about it was that it was realistic without being melodramatic.

I wouldn't call myself suicidal.
And I'm not a coward.
I'm afraid of being me because
the world might not accept it.
You could call me weak.
You could call me stressed.
Heck, you might even step so far
as to say that I'm depressed

I have to say this stanza was my favourite. Often people try to label you as a loser when you fail at something. I have experienced this personally so it hit me quite emotionally.

I had no idea what this poem was about as the synopsis you mentioned was quite vague. Even the title gave a very little idea about it. But this is where you have done your job very well. The poem looked very sharp and poignant because of it. I am really sorry as I couldn't find any nitpicks in it, because I thoroughly enjoyed each and every line. Outstanding Job! Really well done. Keep writing! :D

Amazing! This poem made me feel so sad, frightened, angry, and slightly relatable all at the same time! An excellent piece of art! I'm not a professional poet, but I believe each stanza should be capitalized. It's great no matter what formatting you use. I'm a little confused to why you used normal formatting for your first paragraph, quotations for your second, and italicism for the rest. I interpreted it as differing emotions, but the more I read it the more I see similarities and differences in this piece, which is another perk to "Just Gah."

A few picky tips:
Itch was spelled "ich" incorrectly in paragraph four,
There is only one sole on each foot (again, paragraph four),
And several commas could be put in for the periods, UNLESS OF COURSE you meant for the longer pauses to be there.

But whatever, man. Spectacular piece of art right here. I still get emotional when I read this. Very, very, VERY good.

I feel exactly like you do! Pretty sure I'm claustrophobic of open spaces as well. Everything in this poem I can relate to because it has always been my experience of life. I'm not an introvert but all the rest is 100% true in my world.

This is probably one of my favourite poems because of the energy and 'venting' behind it xD

I love how you've said 'screw you' to the structure of the poem, it makes it more meaningful and raw. I honestly wouldn't change anything about this.

Sunshine here to review...

I'm sorry you feel this way Hun. :( sounds like you just need a hug *hugs* and I highly recommend watching soulpancake on YouTube. I felt like this not too long ago. But this was written very well and I liked the format, I have no nitpicks or critiques for this. My only suggestion is that you watch soulpancake on YouTube because it'll cheer you up :) keep on writing :)
