I was just looking through your poems and I saw one about a cat! I got really excited and YAY! THIS IS A CUTE POEM! I LOVE CAAATTTSSSS!!!!
sorry that was a little too much xD
~Alice
Thank you! xD
This was actually just something I wrote in 4th grade, though I've kept it with me throughout the years to remind myself of where I began as a writer. Never forget your origins~~
(dang I just got deep..)
Hahahaha ^^ That's cute. I started writing in 6th grade
That's awesome! I started attempting to write a novel in 6th grade, though I never was satisfied with any idea. Still am not. Though I keep hearing people tell me to write a book about my schizophrenia lately, so I might try it out and see how it works.
That would be amazing! I think maybe not about 'your' schizophrenia but like a character's schizophrenia, since you have first hand experience. Like how in Alice in Wonderland a lot of people say that the girl that Lewis Caroll based Alice off of had mental issues. That's just my thoughts, I'd love to read anything you write on the matter
Thanks, and I think I'll be writing it in third person so that it's more of a character and not myself. Do you have an email? Maybe we could talk more and bounce ideas off each other
@MadWriter7@outlook.com is the email I use for writing matters
Hi Tigerlilly37, Felistia here.
I love the metaphor you used for the poem. I love cats and the way you wrote the poem reminds me of one. Well done.
Hiya, Tigerlilly!
What a cute poem. I have to say that this poem reminds me of a book called 'I hate cats'. The words were mixed up like yours. The similie you put in this was great, too. How you said:
I love when poetry has similies in them. Great job! This poem is nice and short, it's simple, and cute.
I don't think you need all of those capital letters in there.
You should change "At" and put it lowercase, same with "writes".
I also think you could add some commas here and there.
Another thing I was thinking was that you could make it longer, just to see what happens. I'd say that it looks fine how it is, only id you want to experiment. I know I am definetley going to read more of your works... Can't wait!
For another poem suggestion, I think it would be cool if you write a poem about a dog, just for the fun of it. And in the future, I'd like to see some of your longer poems. This is just a small, simple poem, and who knew? It's great!
As I said probably about a million times, your poem is wonderful. I hope to see more of your works in the future. You're a great writer.
Thanks for your time,
Sunset101
Hi Tigerlilly! <3

This poem was so cute! I love cats and kittens. They're adorable.
I assume that this poem was meant to be simple and short&sweet, but I'll just give you a few things to work on if you actually wanted to improve this a little more!
"A cat
Is like a poet"
This is almost a little too simple for me. It seems flat. Often, poetry is used to convey ideas in abstract and obscure ways. In other words, not just shouting it out. Instead of the simple "a cat is like a poet", you could say "sometimes my eyes wander and wonder/ if those claws could hold a pencil/ could whiskers wax poetic?" or something like that. You know what I mean?
I love how you formatted "From word to word" to make the reader feel as if the cat is actually leaping around. This is awesome! Also, when you wrote, "Pawing/ at periods" to do a play on words (pawing and pausing), that pulled me in, and engaged me further into your poem! That was great!
"As a poet
Writes
A poem"
I'm not sure about this ending. It flows well, but it seems sort of bland...but this is just a note because I'm not sure how to fix it. Besides: even if you don't change it, there is some nice alliteration, and it is nice.
I agree with @Falconer that you really captured a cat's personality in a few short stanzas. I guess I don't have much else to say; this is gonna be an awfully short review. Sorry for the briefness, but this was a good little poem.
Yours,
Savvy
hey Tigerlilly37, i liked your sweet poem.
i really liked the way you wrote-
''From
Word
To
Word"- opps when i pasted it the effect was gone , anyway i was really dogging my head reading your line.
now coming to your poem, okay i get that we the poets jump from word to word bust just a minor error that there is something like a flow which binds all the words. may be you can find something similar with a cat. if you do then i would like to see that in your poem.
there are several punctuation errors so i am not getting where to start from. so just keep a note as i say-
''A cat" should follow a comma.
"Is like a poet" should be followed by a full stop.
"Pawing
at periods" again a comma. and also i did not understand why P of pawing is capital when there was no period or comma before.
and again at the end there must be a full stop after " a poem". try not to capitalize the first word of each line for no reason, it seems wired sometimes.
keep writing,
Rituparna
Hi Tigerlilly,
I loved this short little poem. (Hence this short little review) I like how you moved "word to word" out farther than the other words, it gives the whole poem its cat feel. I have cats, and that's definitely how they act. Good job capturing their personality in just a few short stanzas! (I also like the alliteration with p at the end)

Hello Tuesday here for a review. i like to begin that poem is short in size, yes but sometimes the poems that are short in size are often the greatest meaning. This one, however, has a different style of poem that i love to read since it almost seems like a cat is dancing pouncing at the letter then at the end, is sitting there licking its paws or something.
From what I have read, i would suggest that you should continue writing more of this poem since this needs to be more cat-like or something. Also the reviews below this one, have already did the mistakes that i have seen.
Farewell,
Tuesday (Blue-Team)
Hi there, Tigerlily37! This is such a short little poem, and I don't see anything wrong with it. I guess this means it isn't really much of a review, but oh well, I'm counting it as one anyway. This is a cute, short poem and I really like the comparison here. I've never really compared cats to writing nor writers themselves, but you definitely did a great job coming up with this. It's something I would never really of considered if it weren't for the fact someone else had already come up with it. I like the indentures, it really paints the picture of the word-to-word.
Keep writing! ~Prez. T
Tigerlily,
I wish there was more of this poem. I like cats and they're not often described or used as metaphors for poetry or language or words at all, so I think there's so much fresh ground here to cover: the purring of a cat like a stampede of staccato rhythms. The lazy flick of the tail hangs like a j on a notebook lined sheet. These are just some ideas, but I dunno, just throw whatever is out there.
The form here, I dunno. I understand the leaping part and the movement of the line as it leaps really does add more movement to the piece but it's like you're dropping us on top of a mountain without us having climbed the mountain itself, so it feels gimmicky. I really do love the idea of this and the observation of a cat as an incarnation of poetry and I appreciate minimalist style, I actually think that the minimalism is going to work really well with this, I just think that you can throw more there to really capture our hearts and imaginations.
Also I noticed nearly every word is capitalized except for the word cat which makes me a bit sad. I would've liked to see more of the cat in this. Or at least, more of a marriage between the two ideas.
I hope this helps.
~ as always, Audy
