The Games

In Poetry

This is the end...

We have anticipated this moment
For quite a long time

Its probably best
If we just say goodbye

But even still my heart won't let me.
Every beat tugs me
To forgive you

You don't understand just how hurt I am
You underestimate me
Like the rest of them

Then leave!
I don't need you in my life
If all we must do is fight,
Then just shut the hell up
And say goodnight

You people these days and all your drama!
Its all about me, all about me!
But I am here too! Listen to what I say!
I just want to be noticed
Some days..

Some days I wish I wouldn't be noticed!
Think you have problems?
I've been through worse.
Stop living in pity, its not worth it.
I wish you the best,
But I am done.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm sorry
I said a bunch of stuff without thinking
I don't know if I can be forgiven
But I have forgiven you.
And I just need a break for a little while
You have been forgiven.
I pray this is no mistake...
I have run out of patience,
The games are over,
But may the odds still be
Ever in your favor
Wont should have an apostrophe.
Aside from that, it's a wonderful piece!
I like the formatting and the stanzas. It clearly shows that there are two people. Then again, you might be able to pull this off if you did it from Gollum's perspective.
Anyway, nice work. I'd give it 8 1/2 stars.
Cheers!
I liked the structure, and the back and forth. The title was the only thing that made the ending make sense thoughts. However, with the title in mind it does play out well. Anger is a strong emotion I should feel though in some way here, anger is a wild scorpion that swings it's tail and stings anyone in its reach. I've been in knock down drag outs with someone I love and the words got a lot more harsh than that, without cursing is there a way to amp up the anger factor a bit? Other than that great poem and you get extra points from me just because you are a hunger games fan.
Hey there, I've started focusing on poems these days and from yours I can totally see you have great poetic skills.
Your rhyme scheme was not so different but it was perfect. Your poem had various versions and branches to it but you stuck up with the main aim, good job.
"Yet the games are over
But may the odds still be
Ever in your favor"
This was a good ending, expected but good. Well, expected by me, atleast, maybe not by others.
Your language was very very plain, come on, we're talking of hunger games!! It has to be expressive and strong. Anyways, it came out well anyhow.
I have a tendency to pay more attention to titles, so yours wasn't too attractive, use simple but effective titles. Titles that don't give away the content. Your description had already given it away though. But people might expect various things, so maybe it wasn't all that bad on your part.
I liked it overall. Keep writing and stay blessed.
I honestly expected this fight to go badly, and I was surprised to see them make up!
That whole part where they apologize and forgive each other is a little less than believable for me. Most of the time they spent telling each other to leave, to say goodbye, that the other is wrong and that they are right. And right there, out of the blue, they just end up being besties again! We do not get a reason why they changed their minds, just that they did.
The rhymes were placed pretty well in the beginning, so I started reading this in my head as a rap. Though as it went on, they became more and more misplaced. It's not all that bad, cause rhymes are not the most important thing in the world.
But, and this is just my opinion, since you had some good rhymes, I feel like you could have done better.
Thumbs up from CandyWizard
This was actually a fight me and my friend had just recently had, and the apology is straight out of the email she sent me. I started rhyming at the beginning unintentionally and then failed to keep it up. Maybe later I can fix that. Thanks for the review!
