hello!!
to put it simply: this poem is beautiful. everything about it is so well put together and i adore the whole "time" theme. each line is so meaningful, and the overall mood it gives the reader is so enchanting. your writing style is so cool since the words aren't over complicated, they're just a perfect balance of everything. you can express so much emotion in short sentences, it's so powerful. everything flows so perfectly and it's very satisfying to read too.
you stuck to a theme and followed it so well. the "grandfather clock" concept is so amazing because it resonates with time and new year's too.
these are my favorite lines:
btw, i wanted to clarify one thing: who exactly are the bird people?
and also how did you get your poem to format like this? did you upload an image?
anyway, this poem was so pleasing to read. bye!!
thank you so much for your review!
The bird people are just the like, care-free people dancing around on new years eve, as the speaker of the poem is sat on the stairs with a friend watching a new years party take place. It was a phrase my mum once said, calling someone a 'bird person' because they don't worry and live in the present like a bird that can fly away from trouble. I hope that make sense!
And yes, I took a screenshot of the google doc I wrote it in and uploaded that
Hey, IMK here!

First, I'd like to say that I absolutely adore the way that you showed the movement of time. This is usually pretty hard to get right, and I think that it came across perfectly in your work.
Second, I love love looove the imagery of "a promise lost in minutes/already bled dry by a grandfather clock that/looms over us on the stairway"!! It gives this very epic feeling to the poem and it feels super powerful when I read it.
Third, I love the repetition of those same clocks, and how they are a lasting theme within the poem! I think it would be super cool to see you do some sort of continuation of this poem where you continue talking about the clocks because they provide for very good symbolism in your writing.
fourth, I think that the way you write in general, like your writing style, is SPECTACULAR! Its incredible smooth and conveys a lot of emotion in a few simple words.

All in all, I've really enjoyed reading your poem, and I'm looking forward to seeing more in the future!
thank you so much! it means a lot <3
Of course! I adore the way you wrote this and I'm definitely going to have to look at your other works when I have the time

This poem was very thoughtfully put together. It was very fun to read! I enjoyed the topic of the perpetualness of time and how the world will not stop even if you yourself stop. The use of a grandfather's clock to signify time was very smart and makes a lot of sense for this theme of your poem. My favorite line was the bird people sing and dance, it just sounded really nice and was great to hear. Over all a great poem!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it
