Holding the key to the world I believe in
The one I call a place of new beginnings
If I could let go of something I cared for
It would be mortal life
Creating new memories
Creating new bonds between immortality and love
I want to have eternal life
Up in the bright sky
I would stare down
And watch over the people of my people
My kind
My own flesh and blood
I will grow my wings
Soaring across the sky
Shining a light over darkness within the Devil's lair
I will protect the ones under the Oath of God's name
I will create a barrier surrounding the mortals of the world
I will begin a new life as an angel.

Well I find your work to be interesting in more than one aspect. I wonder, is the shape which lines in this single stanza form intentional. I've seen writers of Classical English Literature make forms with their stanza, in a way your work reminded me of them. It's probably a wild guess but your work looks like a cup or a goblet. Maybe I'm way off...but oh well, had to ask:)
Now back to the work itself. This work feels like a sort of a speech or a statement. It's rather well written and I don't have any nitpicks about: the style, the punctuation and rhyming patterns - you know the boring stuff:)
However I am interested in the general message of your poem. depending on the way I look at it can be interpreted as both positive and negative. Is the faith in the worlds above our world so strong that you can endure anything and in the end sit in a throne watching over the rest of us as a higher being of sorts? Or is the life on our world so meaningless that we create worlds above ours so that we have a place to hide, and in a way run from the monotony of our every day lives. Well I'm kinda in between those two answers.
On the off topic( I keep blabbering on, but only because I'm intrigued) this also reminds me of Norse mythology. The angel you speak of reminds me more of a Valkyrie. But again I could be way off.
Well, I had fun reading your work, keep it up^^
P.S English is not my first language, so if I've made some abominable errors in using it, do forgive me.
Hello.
Getting on with the review, I liked the concept and the theme of the poem. I liked the idea that's behind the scene, making it all work, but what's in front of me, what I can see couldn't impress me. This poem has something in it that doesn't let me get comfortable and enjoy the words- something you would expect a poem like this to have.
The first few lines that express your desire to be immortal doesn't sound convincing to me. The flow of the poem is not smooth and it is not working in your favor.
In middle part is the part I liked most in the poem. I love the simplicity, I love the flow of the words. So it'd be unfair if I didn't give you a big thumbs up for that.
The sudden increase in the width leaves me disoriented in the last part, so that is something I couldn't enjoy even if it could have been. What I felt the problem was that you forgot about the width in beautifying the language and that's okay as long as it doesn't hurt your structure.
At last what I find here and there in the whole poem is the lack of contrast. You fail to create images in my mind, in rather forced to create some of my own to understand. The whole poem seems to come out of the same stencil, single tone running everywhere. That is something that can elevate your poem to a whole new level, so I'd suggest you to cure this.
That's all from me. Hope I could be of help.
Greetings!
Hi there. It is rather interesting poem with the theme is more to be fantasy. Whether it's about the 'another life' or the world after death, I believe it is something sacred. You use a word matches between good and evil (Light-darkness). And you expect eternal life as angel who do good things in the name of God, protect people and life in the sky(heaven). To me, it's such a nice poem to read, but still you could make it more interesting by making something special on your poem. Instead of mentioning how you would be;
try convey them in different ways by not stating them directly.
Also, it would be nice if you can put punctuation on your poem. It would add more impact to your poem and indeed bring more variety within. Anyway, keep writing! Nice job
