It's a bad poem but someone told me to write about these moments. Also I have no idea what I was going for. This poem just came out without thought so it probably doesn't make sense.

I'm not going to review this since Lumi said most of what I wanted to say, but I at first thought this title was 'literally love' and I don't know if that was intentional or not. It's not like a reference to something or anything, I just thought it sounded cute and wanted to point that out.
haha yeah it's not intentional xD but that's cute.
You have put much effort to put down this artistic poem. Personally, I like it. I am not sure but this is how I place my understanding of the poem and I stand for correction. From what I see from the first stanza, the persona sounded like she had been placed in a dilemma; thinking she has been betrayed by the man he loved and trusted. "I thought I was enough" is indeed a true event that happens in relationships. Mostly in a situation you put all into your date and realizes you are not even on your partner list. Awkward. "Maybe I think It'll never be easier." That for sure, the never giving up spirit. The persona trying to convince herself things are going to be back to normal.
I like the piece.
So the weird deal here is that no matter how many times I read this, I keep taking away this undertone of abuse and it just. It sticks to me?? I can't really parse why it happens exactly but I think it's just--he's holding your mind. That's so powerful to me. Like screw the metaphors and imagery and allegory.
That's a freaking powerful statement that wrenches my guts apart because I get that. And it doesn't matter if you feel like this poem doesn't have *~literary value~* or whatever--maybe it doesn't win a prize for elegance. But it punched me in the gut because of the combo of lines.
He's holding your mind mid-thought, controlling, and he'll never be yours. Or mine, as it is. And just. It hurts. You hit your audience with a fan of knives with that combo of lines with reread value no matter if you like it or not.
The second stanza feels unnecessary for this reason, just extra exposition--but that's just the thing. Maybe it's not unnecessary for someone else. Maybe that's going to resonate with someone down the line that doesn't hit my frequency. You feel me?
For a moment there I swear I thought I was good enough.
It just hurts. But I still have to say it that I don't feel that power in the second stanza. That retrospection you have going that is already one-two punched out. They're good lines, eloquently said; but I feel like they maybe could be salvaged elsewhere. Consider it.
All my feels.
Ty
Thanks! Yeah, this poem started out as a feeling dump but turned into this sort of story. I'm glad you notice the story that way. It gives me more ideas to change the poem in a certain way. I actually didn't see notice how powerful that line is XD I thought the second stanza was the powerful one xD
Alrighty, short poem, short review.
I really admire that you took the advise given to you. If I were you, I would go through and make all of the letter i ( man I had no idea how to word that) in the first stanza capital. In my opinion, that would really get your point across. That is about the only thing in your poem that I would change.
Alright now for some feel good happy positive stuff. Overall, this poem was great. It all followed the same theme and you were very straightforward. I could tell that you were trying to be straightforward instead of just writing a bunch of extra words on the page. I really do enjoy the way you ended your poem. The lines that said, "I'm a broken metaphor trying to make sense of herself" really stuck with me so, good job on that one.
Hello there. Posting a review as true as I can be.
Its short and up to the point. I believe such romantic poems are good if they are short, and it meets the mark. Although, initially I got confused because in the third line I feel like there's a need of punctuation or maybe I am wrong. Also, I believe it would be so much better if you also use capital letters. It give a feel that the writer is serious. Hope it helped.
