We Are Spring (By Lavender and Jasmine)

PreviousNext

Who are under the sakura, reunited in each other's arms?
We are, my love, Jasmine and Lavender, on a park bench.
Who are sending their goodbyes to April in the form of a poem?
We are, sweetie, to welcome summer and Spring to quench.

Ah, excuse me, I am borrowing your lap for a bit.

A small pond, a sunny yet breezy day, and us together --
That's all we need. Your head on my lap in a weather
Like this to bid our sorrows goodbye and to tether
Our emotions to the migrating cuckoo's feather.

Are we the richest people in the universe, my sugar plum?
Yes, we are, cutie. We would never trade this for anything.
Are we just mere specks of stardust on a roaming rock in space?
Yes, we are, buttercup. We have been so since the beginning.

Aw, love, stop rubbing my cheeks, I am blushing so bad.

We are like little squirrels nibbling on nuts after a hard winter,
We are like free clouds making stupid faces with none to hinder,
We are like two rivers meeting each other again after a splinter,
We are two lovers showering love to each other in a poetic banter.

Did a sakura petal just boop on your nose and make you sneeze?
Yes... Don't you dare laugh! Don't you dare chuckle, Jasmine!
Did I laugh uncontrollably for five minutes after looking at your face?
YES! YOU DID! YOU ADORABLE LITTLE LOVABLE VERMIN!!!!!

Oh, look at that jiji staring at us feverishly, it's so laughable that I feel bad for him.

Ah, how I wish this could last forever. I don't want to get up.
It's fine, we can stay forever -- or at least as long as my lap doesn't give up.
Next time, you will lay on my lap and I will hold your cheeks in a cup!
Now, now, don't make me blush again or I will kiss you to make you shut up.

Why does Spring have to go, love? Is it like us, not allowed to exist?
No, love, like life, it too fades away no matter how much it wants to be.
Then, my love, why does it always come back? Why does it insist?
Because, love, like us, Spring loves life and life loves spring -- for Spring is free.

You are my spring breeze, sweetie. And you are my sakura, lovie.
We are Spring, my love.

End of an era. I don't know what to do now that I've reached the final poem lol
I already love the title tho! I like how it already says that the two are together again and I also like the image of spring. That it implies renewal, a fresh start, maybe even a much needed break:3

I like that they are saying goodbye to the month of April xd meta commentary on the end of napo?

The juxtaposition of being everything and nothing at the same time is nice in the 3rd stanza.

I wonder if the one liners in between is whatever person is not doing the stanza? =D
The stanzas themselves also have distinct styles!

Hm but then comes the sakura boop stanza and it's clear they are changing line by line... (and everything afterward)
I was sure before they were changing speaker between stanzas. Awww

"Why does Spring have to go, love?" easy, to make room for the best season: summer :3

I am glad that you read to the end of the series, thanks a lot! :p

Actually, Lavender and Jasmine are writing every alternate line, as you later realised lol

Personally, my favourite season is Spring, and Spring in Japan is the most beautiful it ever gets so well, it makes sense for Lavender and Jasmine to love Spring -- which ends with April in Japan, traditionally speaking.

Thanks again! :p
