Come gather round people, wherever you scroll,
And check out for new artifacts and legends droll
And add it in soon to your pop trivia and poll
If your life to you needs amusin'...
And you better start readin' the 'paper, 'tis not a troll,
For The Times, they are a-talkin'!
Come influencers and critics who proselytise to your fans,
And keep your mouths wide -- and prance upon the chance!
And don't seek to ruin discovery for history's advance
Is tellin' who and what it's namin'...
The imposters then who'd killed their king,
For The Times, they are a-talkin'!
Come delegates, representatives, please heed the call!
Don't rant to the public, don't block up the hall!
For they that do lie will be them who have stall'd,
For the body underground agin'...
Will soon raise its head and prattle about its fall,
For The Times, they are a-talkin'!
Come sisters and brothers throughout the land!
And don't criticise before you really understand
The suns and the waters that had worn my love's hands!
History is being rewritten...
Please get out of the pen's way if you don't find it grand,
For The Times, they are a-talkin'!
My love, did she find and the verse did she burst,
The slow one now actually found it first,
And in the present now, she has just discussed
It with The Times for publishin'...
And is in the first plane now that's coming to Japan,
For The Times, they are a-talkin'!

Hey Rebel, Alex is at it again! The poem's waiting, let's dive right in ~
Searched up the song and heard it before reading the poetry and I don't regret the decision. The resemblance yet your own touch to it is impressive! Also love the fact that Jasmine has grown into verse now, just as Lavender gave it up is soooo poetic. This felt like a song of Jasmine announcing the development proudly, as if she has been waiting for Lavender to break free one day of something that seems to hold her back. On the other hand, Jasmine always had rhyming meter in her work but seems too uncaring or hesitant to really give it a try. Now we see he success as she gives herself a chance, and both their styles have essentially reversed completely in a way that makes sense and progress- you're a genius, Rebel! I never expected these lovely girls who talk in riddles would ever come this far, you're the one to credit for it.
Love how you've taken the song for a poetic revolution, portraying the power of the word, pen and truth. Poetic, philosophical and inspiring! It's like a warning to those with a dead conscience not to lie, for the reality of things will come out at one point. Love how you expose all the hypocrisy!
My favourite lines! The initial parts are mostly picked from the song, but the later half added so beautifully to it- in a horrific imagery that fit perfectly. Bravo!
Like the contrast to the original mothers and fathers and how it acknowledges that the young generation can also be set in its way sometimes. Humility is for everyone, I could get behind that lesson! Also I get the sense that she's defending Lavender, it's sweet of her to stand by her side when it seems the reader (aka me) might've been a little overly critical of her from the beginning, just waiting for when she slips up. Warning received, Jasmine. XD
Huge fan of the phrasing, it's remarkable! I'm not truly sure of what the second line implies but it I really like the sound of it and the weight the first one carries with such grace is commendable.
Maybe not an extensive riddle, but Lavender did pose a question at the end. And Jasmine answered it so well, oh my! =)
It's like a little farewell piece before they switch their writing styles, and they're as good at it as they've always been. These two never disappoint <3
Say can you get an ear worm from text? Because sometimes when I least expect it, my brain goes: a calming notion, perpetual in motion XD
In any case, this poem now.
I should know this song but I don't remember it sooo I'm making up my own melody and I like it!
Also this line here intrigues me. Because it might be part of the song but it might also be plot! "The imposters then who'd killed their king"
I also love that Jasmine writes this as if anyone but Lavender could also read it. I think that's very cute and valid ahhh they've grown on me, despite their lovey-dovey stuff xd
Kek, I myself start randomly singing random songs I haven't heard in a while, and I also had that line stuck in my head for a while lol, the song's too catchy.
This is a parody of Bob Dylan's "The Times, They Are A-Changing'", it was written during the American Civil Rights movement, so the context is pretty cool -- and so is the song!
Personally, I am glad that you like the anthology in general -- I was too afraid that people would cringe out a lot. Remember that random message I sent you about tragedies and happy endings lol? It was about this.
Anyway, thanks again! :p
