I love slurping Tea... and You (By Jasmine)

Oh dear, oh dear...
Seems like someone read too much
Kafka and Hegel and Kant and
Dostoevsky in a single week...
Whatever shall I do with you
And your newfound 'truth'?

Listen, girl. Here's my
Truth: I like drinking tea,
Pearl, Darjeeling, Latte, Green.
I gulp 'em all day after making
A flask-full of tea in morn'.

But that's not the whole 'truth'.

In my office, or in our bed,
In my garden or our car shed,
In the off-hours reading your texts,
In the lil' time between rounds of sex --
Tea is better when it's with you.

You are my truth, my Lavender tea.
When we go for a jog, when we
Make our favourite foods for each other
For Dinner and then when I smother
You with kissies and then choke you
Till you moan and then poke your
Nose and sleep in your arms without
A care in this world -- no doubt,
That's my truth.

You are my Truth.

Aww why is this suddenly so wholesome: “Tea is better when it's with you.”
Especially because it’s coming from Jasmine (a tea girl? XD Altho the one tea she didn’t mention liking…)

So I suppose the answer I didn’t get was Truth? (Greetings from FMA!)

It took me until this to realise that lavender is also a kind of tea: “ my Lavender tea.” Oops.

I find this poem very cute and I really like how the lines flow in to each other. Also the teasing in the first stanza XD I like that Jasmine knows her gf is very pretentious but still rolls with it :3
Wonder where they are going with this.

Thanks for the review, Tika! :p

Personally, I had no idea where this was going when I was writing this. After a lot of deliberation, I finally set up a mini-storyline (hint: PMs) in this little anthology of 30 poems/15 pairs of riddles and answers. You get to know more about Lavender and Jasmine as you read the poems.

This poem is CHEF'S KISS! How it transitions from those heavy, dusty philosophy books to something as warm as a cup of tea. The way you list all those different flavors like Darjeeling and Pearl is truly amazing! It makes me feel like they’re right there in the kitchen with you. It’s EXTREMELY AWESOME how the truth isn’t some boring academic theory! The small, cozy moments like jogging together or making dinner. The ending is straight up beautiful because it shows that real love is found in the off hours and the little things. It’s a nice way to show how someone can be your whole world.

Thanks for the review, Nataleeen!
