What is the meaning of life itself?
What is the word that defines the self?
What is the simplest yet the most profound?
What is the solution that'd still confound?
Dharmachakrapravartana, Sermon on the Mount,
Jabal al-Nūr, Gita, The Dào -- all of them amount
To everything and nothing and something and none --
They all say the same, yet it's not quite the One.
It is personal and eternal, celestial and bodily,
The pinnacle of humanity that might seem a bit silly
If the thoughts aren't put to action ever readily --
It's there in the stars, and our garden lily.
Oh my dear, you may call me a pretentious wench,
You may call me a snob with a licentious stench --
Yet, let this fact never be a contentious trench,
The brightest star is right here, on our garden bench.

I know I left reviewing this midway, such a big collection can get exhausting pretty quick. So I've reworked my strategy- a comment on the poem if it's out of the GR, and a review if it's still in. Hopefully that's okay!
This was definitely your most intriguing puzzles- the narrative and wording is incredibly compelling here but I have absolutely no idea what's the answer this time. Something like fruit, roots or ivy? Just wild guesses, I'm sure the correct one would make a lot more sense. Now that I think about it, I applaud Jasmine's intelligence for figuring these out so effortlessly.
Additionally, the hindi words and references were an absolute treat!
Thanks for the comment, Alex!
I mean, only two of the words here have Indian origins -- "Dharmachakrapravartana" and "Gita" -- and they are Sanskrit words, not Hindi.
Also, yeah, Jasmine is extremely smart -- as you would soon see -- but I think the fact that Jasmine knows her girl very well is more of a factor than the smartness.
Thanks again! :p
Well Indian references would fit better then! And it definitely crossed my mind if their close bond is what helps Jasmine answer the riddles, glad to know you wrote these with that in mind as well.
I really like the final line of the poem :3
I continue to enjoy Lavender's riddles even if I have no clue what's happening in this one!
Hehe, you'd have to check out the next poem for Jasmine's amswer!
I LOVE HOW IT RHYMES AND CONTINUES WITH MEANING TO EACH AND EVERY WORD!! It's like every word has its own backstory and keeps connecting and connecting and it feels heavenly to me! Your range of vocab is also AMAZING! CHEF'S KISS AMAZING! And in the end, DON'T EVEN MAKE ME START, ITS ABSOLUTING ASCENDING! It perfectly ends it all leaving people without a single drop of disappointment! Overall, SCRUMPTIOUS (what I mean is beautiful, calming, and TRULY AMAZING!
Thanks for the review, Nataleeen! I am glad that the ideas and imagery come across well! What do you think is the one-word answer that Lavender is seeking?
I really like this, it’s nice and short. The only thing is I kind of don’t understand what you’re talking about at all… but somehow it’s still kind of interesting 😂
I like third and first part because those I kind of got the meaning of but I’m not exactly sure what you were trying to say? I mean it’s probably me, because I think each poem is written for a certain type of people who have felt or thought that exact thing and maybe I just haven’t! Either way it’s a nice piece I like your wording
Thanks for the review, foxgirl!
Well, this is the 7th poem (or, the first one of the 4th pair of poems) for the anthology of poems I am writing ("Of Lavender and Jasmine") in April, aka, the Nation Poetry Writing Month. It's about two lovers, Lavender and Jasmine, have a dialectic conversation through poetry where L asks the questions and J replies to them. This too is a riddle in the form of a poem where Lavender is seeking a one-word answer from Jasmine, and the reply is going to come out in a few hours!
Thanks again! :p
