In Making the Same Mistakes Poetry (May 2014-

You stay with me always slightly
in the flushed motions
of my lips
shaping the sandy plane of your body
again and again

I’ve memorized
the brevity of your name
in fumbling fingers on skin,
a memorial to each touch

that I build up
whenever you aren’t here
to kiss new
ghosting sweet flowers
over my mind

This sweet stuff of dream fluff of
tiringly fierce
tumbling discoveries
keeps me wondering

what is different this time?

I really like this. It's short and simple but it still really captures how one can feel in separation of their significant other. I really like the flow of the poem and the free verse scheme. It really goes well with the meaning of the poem. I absolutely love the lines "I've memorized/ the brevity of your name/ in fumbling fingers on skin" It's very poetic and beautiful. I also like the personification of your line "Ghosting sweet flowers." It really gives the flowers a life like reality. I really enjoyed reading this. Keep up the good work!

I really like your poem, I think it describes very well, how girls feel when they are away from that "someone special". I mean I know feel that way whenever my boyfriend is gone off somewhere for a week or two. Sorry I got off track there for a sec!

Anywho, I really love how it connects with the reader ( cough cough me) and I look forward to reading more of your poems.

BTW I really think you are a very talented writer!!! Well keep up the good work and maybe I'll review some more of your work!!

I'm not much for poetry, but I like this. John. Very interesting. One of the better poems that I have come across. I like the use of vocabulary, as is perfectly balances your style.

You see, I'm a prose, freestyle, novelistic writer. I don't write poetry. So I don't quite know how it works. I am, however, fairly well educated in the rules and regulations of non-poetic writing. So that's what I'm going off of.

I'm a bit scared to make suggestions here, as I'd hate to ruin something good. But if I were to write this, in your nice little "This sweet stuff of dream fluff of", I would move the last 'of' to the next line. Just a little suggestion to improve flow. But maybe you shouldn't listen to me. Again, I'm not one for poetry.

I shouldn't say anything else. Really liked this. Well done.

Keep on writing.
