Waves of Words

In Poetry

Amber leaves sway high above,
swatches of honey caught in trees.
A balmy scent of earth and life
surrounds me as I sit beneath.

My pencil scratches, soft and swift,
enscribing words my mind creates.
Serenity surrounds me, calm.
Wind leaves me smiling in its wake.

I drift away on waves of words.

This is a really nice poem that me a sweet serene feel to it. I love your word choice (e.g. amber, swatches and balmy :)) and the imagery you paint for the readers.

My only small critism is the line, "Serenity surrounds me, calm." Compared to all your other flowy lines, this one seemed a tad abrupt and out of place. Maybe use a ; instead of a , or add more after the first segment than just "calm."

Still, really good job and keep writing!

This is such a soothing poem and it really puts me in a relaxation mood. It's short and sweet. I can really picture the images and the scents mentioned in this poem. Reading this poem made me drift away in waves of words. I hope to read more from you!
