No rhymes here sorry!

No matter how hard I try to close my eyes, to just think of something else for one second I can't block it out.
When I speak its like I'm not hearing my own voice, but the whimpering and crying of a sad, broken little girl.

I cannot hide from it.
I am my own worst enemy.

Everything just keeps running through my head like a long dark tunnel with no way out, no light.
I try to put on a brave smile, but when people look at me I believe they see through it.

They know I'm faking.
They look at me weirdly. Like a screwed up patient who should be quickly diagnosed.

But that wasn't just it.

I knew I was lying to them. But...was I lying to myself too?
I had lost my inner light.

It's okay for your poetry to not rhyme. Poetry is about what you feel and things your going through or see and want to express. Beauty, pain and suffering, happiness, love, whatever. It's human nature to want to create and that's what poetry is. :) I went through bad times when I was your age and poetry is what helped me through them, to be able to express what I was feeling.

Your poem was very nice, I loved it. Keep writing and if you feel like its not right just read it aloud and see it it sounds ok. :D

Anyone who goes through tough and socially insecure times in life would completely understand what you mean.

The emotional struggle of the narrator was completely sincere and did not give a hint of being superficial.

The title especially, was fantastic as it brought out the hard times of a scared, confused , and insecure person.

Totally different from poems with similar ideas.

Good work.
