E - Everyone

Rich from all that I see

If only I could see through
the soul of everyman, I would
be rich, wealthy from all the secrets
I would find.
I would know all the hush –hushes,
the tales and stories of life that need
to be hidden from mankind for the good
of man kind.
But I would know and that would
make me invincible, stronger
than any type. I will be able to see
through you and no longer will I
be blind.
The facts and lies will find their
places and no more can they hide,
for you see, slowly and brutally,
all the cloak-and-dagger
 I’ll unwind.
So my friend, beware. I am rich
from all that I see. You soul is
no longer your safe house for
I’m the thief you can not stop.
Much you try, it is fruitless for
nothing from me, about you,
 is confined.

Hello there! Spark here to review!

Wow, very nice poem here! :) But there are a few errors I think could be sorted out. First of all, your stanzas aren't separated well! Just a simple little formatting problem that kind of makes the poem look all mushed together. Which detracts from the quality! :o
Also, I think you didn't start a new line where you were supposed to always. For example,

If only I could see through
the soul of every(space)man,
(new line)I would be rich,
(new line)wealthy from all the secrets I would find.
I would know all the hush –hushes, (this part confuses me?
the tales and stories of life that need
to be hidden from mankind
(new line)for the good of man kind.

Do you see how that flows better? It's much easier to read, and much easier to understand.

The message and image are good. I'm not sure why, but I feel like it just wasn't as exciting and bright as it could of been. It's almost a little hazy around the edges, the colors blurring into grey. I think it's because the messages are all mixed up and changing. Like Aley said before, it's hard to make sense of that.

Anyway, good poem!

I feel like this poem is at war with itself. First, you have a person wishing they could know all of the secrets, and then they do? Why didn't they know them at the beginning of the poem? What changed between the two sections to make them learn all of the information they wanted to learn and how is it that they could possibly steal that information as is indicated by thief?

I would really like to see this poem written just from the view point of the person knowing things, and an interaction, or the reveal, between the two people. I think that would be a stronger poem because we won't have the wishy washy and if they start out as timid and shy, approaching as they always had, and then end up this superior, bold voice, it would really make a nice piece.

That being said, I love your voice. It is very lyrical and easy to listen to even if at the end, it sounds very threatening. You have a good beat in this poem. As for your word choice, I'd suggest playing with a thesaurus every once in a while to find some interesting words, like instead of confined, you could use that all your dirty laundry is disclosed, or other things like that. Also, try to check and see if two or more of your stanzas end on the same word, that can be distracting and create an unwanted 'pattern' for readers at the end. Rhymes can be distracting. In this poem, they aren't for me, but that could just be because I'm half asleep while I write this.

I love this poem. I will start off with the only negitive feedback i have
"I would know all the hush –hushes,
the tales and stories of life that need
to be hidden from mankind for the good
of man kind."
Personally i think the use of the word mankind kind of makes it sound awkward i guess is the only way i kow how to put it. Also that if you are using the same word/ phrase make sure they are both spelled the same way! Otherwise, i love the poem and the way it flows. I'd like to read more of your stuff(:
