wow, i read this earlier when you first posted it and had to come back to it after processing it. this is a really beautiful poem, but i just especially love the formatting. I am such a sucker for formatting in cool ways when it comes to poetry, and here it really makes the piece much emptier, like the emotions are there and reaching out and no one is listening. It's a bit like the left side is speaking into a void, and the right side is answering.
The two sides both read like individual poems, but also combine into one main poem. The left side is dripping with visceral descriptions, decay, worms, a stinking corpse, blood; it's gruesome in a very raw, emotional, deep internal way. It uses the idea of a physical decaying body to portray the feelings, which is just genius and frankly I am in awe! On the right, it seems as though the narrator's low self-esteem is seeping through, interacting with the physical emptiness and decay on the left, it all wraps up into something that paints a sad picture of someone reaching out, literally giving up their own innards, and getting nothing back.
I have nothing else to add, other than that I hope you continue with this sort of poetry in the future, and that if this is a feeling you are experiencing, I hope it gets better for you.
