curse of the timezones

E - Everyone

In Poetry....

i live under the curse of the timezones

oh yes i do

im always the only one online

im always the only one on the wfp

i wish people would realize

im not shy

im not antisocial

im not an introvert

im just cursed

im cursed with this terrible inconvenience

this terrible malady

this tragedy that shadows my every step

that darkens my every door

this curse that has worn me down

i stand now broken and battered

alone of course

this curse of the uncommon timezone

is heavy

is deadly

this curse is the greatest curse in the history of the world

after the curse that put sleeping beauty to sleep

like her i too

am asleep while the world bustles

but this curse is worse

it cannot be broken

this curse i hate

this curse i would never wish upon anyone else

this curse is the reason i miss all the workshops

all the yws events

this curse should never have existed

for magic of this power and degree

should never be wielded

this magic is evil

this magic is dangerous

and this magic shall end the world

 there is one secret

about the curse

that i never mention

i live under the curse of the timezones

im always a day ahead

so remember

  if there is race,

i will win.

Without fail.

As a lover of satire, this is fantastic! The humor is on point and truly highlights the playfulness of the poem. Another great thing about this poem is the shape. I must say I am a lover of creative layouts, but the use of spacing in your work is brilliant.

Hi there! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today!

(GREETING & INTRODUCTION)

Top Graham Cracker - I admit, this is super relatable and funny. Im usually behind when it comes to time zones with most of the people I know its morning for them and night for me or vise versa.

Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - I don't see room for improvement, this is a pretty good poem.

Chocolate Bar - I have a lot of things to say. This poem is very silly and makes me laugh. I love how you repeated words.

Closing Graham Cracker - That is all i have to say, have a good day/night

we live in neighbouring countries (and enemies since their birth lol) we could open a wpf for everyone cursed with the same evil T-T

canopy replied · Sep 14, 2024

omg yes we should! the wfp can be called 'Curse Survival 101' or something like that

I'm just going to be honest and say that not only I'm on a time limit but I did this for the points
sorry :<
but I clicked on this and not some other poem for a reason! Ill read as I go.
if you weren't trying to rhyme or form special lyrics, then I think you did good. the lyrics are okay, but if you were trying to rhyme, maybe take a little time in the future? there are many reasons to write a poem, and for all I know, it was in the heat of the moment and you just wanted to push your feelings out.

I get how you feel! the problem is I have starting bipolar disorder. the doctors mentioned something and everything. I'm not old enough to be diagnosed, but I definitely have symptoms. sometimes I close up like a leaf. the best advice I can give you is to take it upon yourself. message random people. sometimes they will tell you to **** off. some are toxic. some you just don't bond with in general. but you can meet a life time friend just by having the courage to push yourself out there. I met my best friend on here just by messaging her deciding it would be a bright idea to message me and ask if we could be friends after I reviewed her work. good people are out there. you're bound to find the right time zone soon!

well I don't know about "the end of the world" get your feelings out I guess. but its pretty painful when you have few friends and they all have different time zones or they dont have a phone number. but im sure that youll find some friend! it could be anyone. stay safe!

Nice poem written by the author.
First of all this poem is very funny :)

"im always a day ahead
so remember
if there is race,
i will win.
Without fail."
In the poem, the author first talks about how he/she is cursed, because she lives in a country where the time goes really fast (just how fast the night changes...no more jokes). But then the author suddenly emphasizes on how this time zone thing is a benefit for him/her, as he/she will always be ahead, he/she will always do things way earlier and that's how he/she will win the 'race of time'. Everything in our life has advantages and disadvantages, it is all about what you focus on, the good side or the bad side. The choice is yours.

This concept is very well explained by the author through this poem.

Keep it up.
Waiting for more.
Thank you.

Thanks for the review.

Surround yourself with people who are serious about being writers, and who will tell you, ‘Hey—you can do better than this.’ Who will be critical of your work, but also supportive. And who will not be competitive in a negative way.
