Silent Knight

In Poetry

Silent Knight, Holy Knight,
Uphold your quest of truth and light,
Bear the weight of Evil's blight;
This is your task, Silent Knight.

Silent Knight, Holy Knight,
Become the Watcher of Good despite,
The pain emotions shall invite;
This is your task, Silent Knight.

Silent Knight, Holy Knight,
Take care your soul does not ignite,
With love that companions incite;
This is your task, Silent Knight.

Silent Knight, Holy Knight,
Mask your pain and guard your spite,
You are the Bastion of All That's Right:
You are the Heartless, Soulless Knight.

Really nice poem! :) It's well phrased and has a lot of expression (two things I believe vital for good writing). I think you misused two word though. In the last stanza, you say "You are the Heartless, Soulless Knight". Well, why would the knight be"heartless" or "soulless" if he is protecting and guarding others? Perhaps you didn't consider the meaning of these words. No worries, you can change that, :D

Nice work! Keep it up!

Hi there!

Wow. Love this piece. I don't know why, but this poem really draws me in, pulls at me. Great job. Usually I'm critical of capitalization where it doesn't belong, but you know...it works here. At least for me.

Ok, only one real criticism here. So I noticed that your middle verses (the one framed by "Silent Knight, Holy Knight" and "This is your task, Silent Knight" had a very definite rhythm to them... and I found that this line:

"With love that companions incite;"

did not hold to that rhythm. I was really getting into the flow of the poem, and then I read this line, and it seemed to corrupt that beautiful beat you had going. It seemed forced. The rest of the poem seemed to read smoothly, however. That's the only thing I noticed. ;)

Once again, I really liked this. A lot. Keep writing.

Hey! ChocolateCello here!

(I began reading this to the tune of 'silent night', is that bad?)

Okay, back to reviewing. I don't have any content edits, just things like punctuation and capitalization.

Punctuation
You had a LOT of commas here. Sure, this is common in poems, but I don't like how the were used. You had a period at the end of each section, (Verse? Sorry, bad with poem vocab.), making it look like the entire thing was a sentence. I think you should write out everything in a normal writing form (as if it were just a story), put punctation where it would normally be, then put it back into a poem format. This would look a lot nicer and would be more proper too.

Capitalization
There is a ton of unneeded capitalization here. "You are the Heartless, Soulless Knight." If 'Heartless, Soulless Knight' is the knights professional title, then sure, leave it, but you have a lot of other descriptions and I doubt that that was what you were going for. You have capitalization problems all over so I'm going to suggest the same thing I said for the punctuation. Write it out in normal writing form (as if it were a story), capitalize the beginning of the sentences and nothing else (Except if something is a title of course), then put it back into poem form.

I really enjoyed reading this. All of your rhymes were smooth, everything flowed nicely, and the story was told well.

Keep writing!

This was a wonderful poem to read! I love that you actually added the historical background of knighthood. By adding the religious aspect you really created a well rounded idea and poem. You're rhythm is coherent and well thought out, I didn't feel like you just added any certain word purely for it to rhyme.
My only problem was when you capitalized certain words, "Evil" shouldn't be capitalized unless you are specifically refers to the devil and using Evil as his name. "All That's Right" shouldn't be capitalized either. This actually really confused me, especially right at the end with your choice of capitalization.
Other then that, I really enjoyed!
