E - Everyone

In Self

After a long day, she had finally completed all her chores. The twins were fed, the home work was done, and they were tucked into bed. The kitchen which had been a mess was now spotless. It had taken nearly two hours of scrubbing and organizing to make it gleam like the sky after a strom had passed.

She stepped into her bedroom, weighed down by the thought of what to prepare for tomorrow's lunch boxes. Should she make two or three different dishes? And if so, what time would she need to wake up to get everything ready? These questions swirled in her mind.

As the rain gently pattered outside, making the night as dark as ink. The soothing hum of the fan and the soft rustling of leaves outside created a calming backdrop. She let her thoughts drift away as her eyelids are growing heavy. She slowly closed her eyes letting the quiet night lull her into the embrace of dreamland.

As a child, she was brimming with ambition, constantly dreaming of the future she hoped to create for herself. She was the apple of her teacher's eyes, excelling in her studies and earning praise from everyone around her. Her dedication and intellect shone brightly, making her a standout student.

At home, however the life was idyllic. Her father's alcoholism cast a long shadow over their lives, leading to a frequent arguments between her parents and a pervading sense of instability. The financial strains and his deteriorating health created an environment of constant hardship. This led to an early marriage of her elder sister Jyothi, who though still young and somewhat immature had to step into a role of responsibility far too soon.

Jyothi's early marriage brought with a cascade of difficulties. Despite with her best efforts, she faced numerous challenges at her in-laws. By the time she was barely in her twenties, Jyothi had already experienced the trials of raising her two children and the heartbreak of miscarriage. As Jyothi's struggles continued, she often sought refuge at her maternal home finding solace from the pressures and conflicts she faced elsewhere.

Witnessing the strained relationships of her mother and sister and observing their relentless struggles to make the ends meet, she adapted a deep sense of determination. The hardships faced by her family served as a powerful motivator, pushing her to focus intently on her studies. She channeled her energy and completed her graduation with distinction managing to achieve this remarkable feat without relaying on any financial support from her parents. Her academic success made her the very first to graduate in her entire family line.

The night was still young, with the sky gradually lightning as the sun began its ascent, gently separating the earth from the heavens. The air was filled with pleasant sounds of birds chirping and the delicate tinkling of wind chimes their melody carried softly by the breeze. The scent of the fresh rain lingered, a reminder of the storm that had passed the previous night.

Suddenly, the tranquility shattered by the ringing of th alarm. "Tring tring!" It pierced through the calm, jolting her awake. Glancing at the time, she leaped out of the bed. Her mind racing with the tasks ahead. She hurried to the kitchen, where she set to work preparing lunch boxes for her family, a routine in the early morning bustle.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),

Hi! I'm Kate and I'm here to leave a quick review!!

First Impression

This is an interesting continuation from where we were earlier. Looks like things end an we have a second moment of introspection. This one certainly reveals quite a bit more.

Anyway let's get right to: Kate's Line by Line Reactions;

After a long day, she had finally completed all her chores. The twins were fed, the home work was done, and they were tucked into bed. The kitchen which had been a mess was now spotless. It had taken nearly two hours of scrubbing and organizing to make it gleam like the sky after a strom had passed.

Well looks like after the excitement of the children has passed we're settling in once again to do a bit more thinking although this time its less heavy and much more focused on getting through the day.

Oop here we go, looks like we're diving right back into retrospection and this time we're going deeper in detail to the past here. Looks to be an interesting detail here showing she was once a good student.

Oooh looks like we have some dark spots in the past there. Alcoholism is certainly no joke and it seems as a result of that her sister was forced into quite the difficult situation there. We're starting to see why she finds herself in this position now.

The air was filled with pleasant sounds of birds chirping and the delicate tinkling of wind chimes their melody carried softly by the breeze. The scent of the fresh rain lingered, a reminder of the storm that had passed the previous night.

Well looks like despite all the hardship in the family she was the shining light within that ended up doing really well. That certainly could show why she appears to worn out now.

Well it seems we're done with thoughts for the moment. Off we go right back into the busy day to try and deal with life's trials and tribulations. An interesting point to end here.

Aaand that's it for this oneee!!!

Overall

Overall a solid second chapter. I think it builds on the previous one well and we're starting to see more and more of who this character is. It does a good job I think showcasing how they have got to this point. Looking forward to seeing more.

As always remember to: Take what you think was helpful and forget the rest!

Stay Safe and Have a Nice Day!
Kate

Thankyou so much for the beautiful review

Hello! I'm back! :D
And what did I say about this character? Yes, indeed she turns out to be a really hard worker. And a mother. I already admire this character. She's doing so much on her own. I wonder if she has a husband.

strom had passed.

"Storm" is misspelled.

The second paragraph was an interesting touch. The character's concern is not about where the food is going to come from like I first thought but how elaborate she's going to make the food. I wonder why she's so concerned about what to make.

the rain gently pattered outside, making the night as dark as ink.
I suggest removing the "as" at the beginning of the sentence. (The "as" is not quoted by accident. I'm trying to select the words and copy/paste on my phone which isn't easy)

She let her thoughts drift away as her eyelids are growing heavy. She slowly closed her eyes letting the quiet night lull her into the embrace of dreamland.
Two things: one is that "are growing" is present tense. I'd switch that to "grew" to be more concise and make it flow better. Also, there should be a comma after "eyes" and before "letting." Aside from that, you did a great job making that part very peaceful and sleep-inviting. Your use of the senses added a very nice touch.

Her dedication and intellect shone brightly, making her a standout student.
Maybe try "showed"? That might be a lil clearer. Also, I love your use of the word "dedicated." Clearly she has kept that up as an adult for I can see she is quite dedicated to her work and upbringing of her children.

home, however the life was idyllic. Her father's alcoholism cast a long shadow over their lives, leading to a frequent arguments between her parents and a pervading sense of instability. The financial strains and his deteriorating health created an environment of constant hardship. This led to an early marriage of her elder sister Jyothi, who though still young and somewhat immature had to step into a role of responsibility far too soon.
im quoting this entire text because I have a few suggestions for each part. First, there should be a comma before and after "however." Second, "a frequent arguments" needs to be coherent. And finally, coma before Jyothi.

Now to my *positive* comments :D Hearing her backstory really helped me understand the main character. Your use of the phrase "long shadow" really visualized the darkness that the character grew up in. And the story of Jyothi really adds to that. I also find it interesting that Jyothi is the first character to have a name so far. This adds immense interest. I wonder why...

miscarriage.As Jyothi's
Just a space needed there :)

I have to compliment your ability to speak of three "shes" in one paragraph without mentioning any one's names and me still knowing who is who. Well done!!

Now when you talked about the peaceful night that was very beautiful, but, I will say that it had me thinking the main character had awoken during the night and was listening to the peaceful night. I recommend slipping a little sentence in there describing the character sleeping so it's clear to the reader what the main character is doing.

The last part felt a little jolty. I suggest removing "suddenly" perhaps, as the start of the word "tranquility" by itself joins the first idea with the second. Also "the alarm" is misspelled."

she leaped out of the bed. Her mind racing with the tasks
try joining the fragment starting with "her mind" to the previous sentence using a comma.

I have to say her morning really seemed unlike her. She seemed like a very contemplative woman...and not the type to rush into action. I feel like she would have set her alarm to an earlier time to give herself time to get ready and perhaps even meditate.

I also found the alarm a bit jarring to my perception of the story so far as for some reason (perhaps the mention of clothes in chapter 1) I was thinking this was set some time ago. But now that clues into the alcohol problems. Idk. I just thought I'd mention my thoughts on that. :D

Hope this helps :D

Thank you so much for the review...as you see punctuation and using vocabulary still confuse me. It really helped
