What’s wrong with people, I really don’t know,
They act like experts — in rain, sun, or snow.
You ask, “Do you know this?” They say, “Of course, bro!”
But deep inside, it’s just a big NO. 😒
“Did you hear what happened to Ritu?”
“No… but I think she ran away with a waiter in a tutu!”
Turns out… she just went shopping for tea.
But gossip needs spice — truth is boring, you see.
I once asked my cousin, “What’s Bitcoin, yaar?”
He said, “It’s like WhatsApp, but with more star.”
I just stared like 🫠... “Okay, genius man,
Next you’ll tell me it’s sold in a frying pan!”
And doctors? Poor souls, they study for years,
But aunty next door has cured all fears.
“Beta, don’t take the medicine, it’s all a scam,
Just drink hot water with haldi and jam!” 🤦
Why is it so hard to say, “I don’t know”?
Is it banned? Illegal? Does ego explode?
Even Google takes a second to think —
But people reply before they blink!
Once I said, “I don’t know about this topic.”
Everyone gasped like it was so catastrophic.
One guy said, “Then why are you alive?”
Calm down bro, I’m not applying for NASA’s drive! 🚀
Some people just can’t say it at all,
They’d rather fake it and take a fall.
“I saw her go there,” they confidently lie —
But in truth, they were sleeping with mouth open wide. 😴
So here’s my advice — if you really don’t know,
Just say it proudly, let the honesty show.
You won’t die, you won’t faint, I swear,
You’ll just look smarter... and breathe some fresh air!

hiii! hop here with a review! Let's just jump in! ~~~~
Okay so this poem had me laughing, nodding, and lowkey spiraling because wow, people really do be like this. It’s so real. Like painfully real. I feel like I’ve had every single one of these conversations and now someone finally put it into words
The first stanza already sets the tone. People acting like experts in every weather condition, pretending they know everything when they clearly don’t. That “Of course bro” line followed by the big NO is exactly how it feels. I’ve seen that face. I’ve heard that voice. And I’ve watched the confidence crumble the second you ask a follow-up question
Then the Ritu part? I was wheezing. “Ran away with a waiter in a tutu” is so ridiculous and somehow believable because gossip is wild like that. The truth is always boring so people just spice it up until it sounds like a soap opera. And the fact that she just went shopping for tea? That contrast is hilarious. It’s like people can’t survive without drama
The Bitcoin moment hit me hard. I literally asked someone what it was once and they gave me an answer that made even less sense than “WhatsApp with more star.” I felt that emoji moment deep in my soul. Like yes, I too have stared blankly at someone trying to explain something they clearly don’t understand
And the aunty section? Too real. Every desi household has one. She’s cured everything from migraines to heartbreak with haldi and hot water. Meanwhile doctors are out here studying for years and still getting overruled by WhatsApp forwards. The line about jam made me laugh but also made me want to cry a little
The part about people refusing to say “I don’t know” is honestly the heart of the poem. It’s funny but also kind of sad. Like why is it so hard to admit you don’t know something. Even Google takes a second to think. But people? They answer before you even finish the question. It’s like a reflex
And when I said “I don’t know” once and everyone acted like I committed a crime? That actually happened. Someone legit asked me why I was alive and I was like calm down I’m not trying to build a rocket. That NASA line is perfect. It captures the drama so well
The sleeping with mouth open wide line made me laugh out loud. People will lie with full confidence and then you find out they were literally unconscious during the event. It’s wild. And somehow they still stand by their story
The ending is actually kind of wholesome. I love how it wraps up with advice. Just say you don’t know. It’s not a crime. It won’t kill you. And honestly it makes you look smarter because you’re not pretending. That last line about breathing fresh air? That’s the vibe. That’s the peace I want
Overall this poem is hilarious and way too relatable. It’s got great rhythm, strong punchlines, and a message that actually matters. I love how it mixes humor with truth. It’s not just jokes, it’s observations. And every single one of them hits.
Thank you for reading my review! Have a good night or day! Continue writing and staying amazing!!!

Hi, Alwaysea! I love how comical your poem is, and especially how you always found a way to put the most incompatible words in consecutive lines. The one I found funniest was:
!
'“Did you hear what happened to Ritu?”
“No… but I think she ran away with a waiter in a tutu!”'
"Ritu" and "tutu" 😂! Best rhyme ever!
Besides the humor, I also liked how realistic and important the theme about admitting one's knowledge gaps was.
Overall, you did an incredible job of fitting lots of humor into a poem with a pretty serious, significant message! Keep writing
Thank you for such a lovely review. If you had time please go through my otherworld. I would love to see your views.
Hey, Alwaysea! You've got some great realistic humor brewing here. Can't get enough of it.
I've always been the person to admit blatantly when I don't know something. Thus when someone claimed to know about it, I handed them the reins. But as it'd often turn out, they'd know the mere basics at most. So all my trust has been on nothing, I've found. Over time, I've learnt to study about a thing myself to get it done until and unless I'm sure to be in the hands of an actual expert, then I lay back a little. Saves me a whole lot of trouble, later disappointments and helps me learn a ton of stuff!
Returning to your poem, I could sense it speaking personally to me as it talks of the universal experience of overconfident elders who don't want to admit to not knowing something.
The bit about the gossip regarding Ritu was outstanding. It really portrayed the tendency of people to exaggerate things for the mere sake of making the news intersting.
My most favourite part has to be the Bitcoin bit, though. Calling it a messaging platform and something served in a pan. Truly hilarious! I must admit I don't have a great idea of it myself but I'd rather admit it than taking a wild guess and regretting it in the long run.
The line about doctors specifically hit close to home. On a serious note, do take those medicines. A little warm water's a great healthy practice but it doesn't magically cure what underlying symptoms you might be dealing with.
All in all, loved the taunt on elders who'd sooner lie than admit to not knowing something. As a society, we really need to change. The first step to learning about something is admitting you don't already! Lying and pretending to be aware is totally vain.
I'd suggest you to add this poem under the humor (or you can keep realistic) tag along with satire (this I strongly recommend), I feel that'd be much more accurate. But then again, this is your work. Only you can decide the tone you were more going for, and thus what theme fits your poetry better.
Loved the poem. Commendable work! The rhymes made the thing more lively. The theme is fabulous with a snarky message, enjoyed it thoroughly.
Thank you so much for reading and making ur time to write review. I will add the suggestions as you said, as they are fit for the poem. Thanks once again %u263A
This is hilarious, accurate, and I appreciate it immensely. :>
