Look at that peak on sample four.
I've never seen it look so sharp before.
Did something grow right on these agar plates?
For years I've tried, but nothing worked.
Machines always seem to go berserk.
Finally there's hope I'll graduate!
There'll be actual trends in my data
It'll be totally strange,
But wow, am I so ready for this change...
'Cause for the first time in forever,
Something might have turned out right.
For the first time in forever,
I can get some sleep tonight.
Don't
know if my advisor will like it,
But right now I have some hope,
'Cause for the first time in forever,
I found the unknown!
I can't wait to show everyone!
What if this is...the one?
Tomorrow I'll check the errors small,
Then I'll march down advisor's hall,
Strutting in with confidence and grace.
He's shocked to look and see me there.
He looks at my plots and doesn't swear.
For once, I see a smile on his face.
He says it seems you're on the right track,
Which is totally bizarre,
Nothing like the work I've done so far.
For the first time in forever,
These equations work out fine.
For the first time in forever,
My hypothesis will shine.
And I know it is so unlikely
I'd end up in
Science,
But for the first time in forever,
My career has a chance!
*Note: Advisor is singing Elsa’s part*
Advisor: It won’t get in...
They’ll surely see…
Just how many more data points we need
It’s real…I feel…
But will it show?
Make the reviewers believe what we know
But now the deadline is today
Student: The deadline is today
Advisor: I guess it looks okay
Student: He said it looks okay
Advisor: Go ahead and click submit the page
Student: The page…
For the first time in forever
I’m getting what I’m dreaming
of
A chance to show off to the
world
The science that I love
There’s more work to do
tomorrow
But today I’ll celebrate
‘Cause for the first time in
forever,
Nothing’s in my way!

Asdfghjkl I LOVE THIS!!
LOL I totally missed you necro-commenting but thanks
xP Your welcome!
I love rhythm of it.It was very humorous. You described the experience of taking a difficult test. The worry of getting a question wrong. The happiness of finally getting a question right. The essence of persistence is embodied here.I love the quirky humorous you have created. It was very interesting.Good luck!!!
Thanks! However, I was writing about the perils of doing your own research, which is much more difficult than any test.
I can't even tell you how much I love this! XD
Hilarious parody!
Hey there!
I know this was from a bit ago, but I'm here to offer a quick review anyway!
I am a huge fan of Frozen (obviously. *stares at my icon*) so I sang this as I read this, and must point out a few really nitpicky things!
That this line doesn't rhythmically match. While I was singing, I changed it to, "The machine always seems to go berserk," and it matches much better.
Did you mean "right now I have some hope"? It flows better!
I mis-sang this as "end up in a science branch" and it seemed to rhyme better than what you have? It's still great, though.
In order for this to match, one would have to sing "There's so much data we sti-i-i-ill need." You can add more words if you like?
This doesn't rhythmically work or make sense? Did you mean, "Make the believe in what we know"? That solves the problem.
OTHERWISE, this is fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for posting this, it definitely made my day better!
Thanks for the review! Yeah, I wrote this a while back but I added the last part yesterday in a fit of inspiration. I changed the first two lines you pointed out.
"I'd end up in Science" is actually right-on rhythmically and makes sense because Science is a really prestigious journal. I added italics to make that clearer.
On the data line: Yeah, I think I was adding a pause in my head to fix the rhythm, so I edited that too.
The last line, I have to disagree. It makes sense and fits right with "Make one wrong move and everyone will know". "The reviewers" is referring to the peer-review process, where other scientists review your work before it can get published.
Thanks for the critique! This was just for fun but I never mind making things better.

Sure thing! Thank you for thinking critically about my critique. Love a challenge.
And I seriously love your icon. Off topic, but it's so nostalgic, wow.
This is too perfect.
Who knew we owned 8000 agar plates? o_O
You've totally got this stuck in my head now.
BUT IT'S AWESOME!
Oh my gosh, this is so awesome!! I actually sang it out loud at three in the morning and my brother had to yell at me to shut up. It's funny and it retains the quirkiness of the original. I could almost hear Anna singing it!
I don't have anything to nit-pick at, although I did feel that this line was a bit off:
Maybe if there was a "have" before "found" here, in order to balance the rhythm...
Meh. Or maybe that's just me. XD
I loved the entire poem, and this part, especially:
Jut spiffing-ly brilliant! It's the best parody I've seen so far!
Thanks for sharing this with the YWS community! Reading this made my Frozen-obsessed soul smile.
Keep it up! And keep writing!
~Pompadour
I sang this.
Oh goodness.
It's amazing.
I love it. Absolutely.
I really don't have anything at all to nitpick at.
I'm just here to say that, well, this is perfect.
Good job!
Haha thanks!
You're welcome!
I read this once, and again, and then I sang it. To sum up my opinions, I LOVE it! I haven't seen any other parodies to this song yet, but this one made me laugh. My favorite part was probably,
because I kept thinking about what this was in the original song and I found it pretty funny.
Great job and thank you for sharing!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
Wowwww. xD This is absolutely amazing. Absolutely. A. ma. zing. Really, this was so great. I showed it to my friend, and she laughed so hard. xD It was an amazing parody. Great job, Haha.
Thank you.
