When we met, you were just a boy with ocean eyes,
and I, just a girl with brown ones.
I fell for your smile, and you feel for mine.
I knew we had fallen, it was just a matter of time.
As days grew by,
Our love started to bloom,
From friends to more,
You liked all my posts,
Made me feel special,
Every Time I saw you,
My heart would beat faster,
One day you texted me,
A simple hi,
From then on,
We texted everyday,
We even found out we were a lot alike,
We shared our dreams,
And everything in between,
And everything was going great,
You asked me out,
And then it begun,
A relationship built upon growing love,
And trust,
As days went by,
Things changed,
We still saw each other,
And texted everyday,
I even sent an accidental heart,
But you sent one back,
We talked about Star Wars,
For you loved it so much,
We joked about Ewoks,
For they were so cute,
And grimaced at Porgs,
For we didn't like them that much,
You told me you wanted to work with computers,
Be like Bill Gates,
I thought it was wonderful,
That you knew what you wanted to be,
You see for me that wasn't that easy,
I asked you what you think I should be,
Your reply was journalist cause I am shy,
And love to write,
I thought that was a good job for me,
We talked about food,
And Birthdays,
Yours is December 10th,
I still haven't forgotten,
You told me you loved the cold weather,
I did to,
Because when I was in it,
It reminded me of you,
You liked hockey,
I did to,
We talked in the gym,
Our 6th period class,
You poked my foot,
And protected me when someone tried to crush it,
We joked about things,
And laughed all the time,
I was yours,
and you were mine,
I helped you study for English,
Cause you failed the tests
You were a little stubborn,
But I told you I would help you,
And you let me,
Probably just because you didn't want me to go to bed,
You never passed that test,
In English,
We were assigned a presentation project,
You did yours on Bill Gates,
I did mine on The Apollo 13,
I told you I would be nervous to present,
You told me I would be great,
You said you would watch me,
And give me good luck,
It was going great,
It really was,
But something snapped in my brain,
While I was at my cousins,
For the weekend,
And I realized I liked being alone,
So I texted my best friend at the time,
And told her that me and you,
Were slowly moving apart,
We texted each other less,
And barely even talked,
Even though a part of me still liked you alot,
I knew we needed a break,
I let her text you from my phone,
A long paragraph,
Telling you I was done,
I wanted to focus more on school,
Stupid crap like that,
You were understanding,
You said it was okay,
Even though you wish it was in person,
But honestly I didn't have the courage to,
I guess if I saw you,
And did it in person,
I wouldn't have been able to go through with it,
We stopped texting after the break up,
I still saw you in p.e.,
Our friend group still talked,
Occasionally we would talk during gym,
But I missed our long conversations,
About our dreams,
And I realized how stupid it was of me,
To end something,
That wasn't ready to end,
That day in english,
That I did my presentation,
I did horrible,
I stuttered,
And talked to fast,
I made no sense,
But when you did yours,
It was perfect,
You belonged up there,
I watched in awe,
I missed you,
But I would never admit it,
I put the day we started dating in my calendar,
Where I also put your birthday,
And the day we broke up,
February 10th,
That was enough,
I needed to get over you,
But it was to hard,
Even a year later,
I still thought of you,
I still think of you,
I regret my mistake,
And I keep asking myself where we would be if I didn't end it,
Even one stupid night,
I asked my friend to text you,
To ask if you still liked me,
You said um no,
I broke,
I still like you,
Apart of me always will,
You were always the first one,
The first guy I fell for,
My first real relationship,
It only lasted a month,
But a year later I still can't get over it,
It was us...

Wow, just, wow.
This is really good brook.
I find it very romantic as well.
I really enjoyed reading it, it was like a really long story in a simple poem. The imagery isn't that great though, i feel if it had more it would be better. Also i feel the emotion from this, its kind of mixed but man, that was really strong. It reminded me of so much to be honest. Poems like this touch people in so many ways. When they can relate to it, it becomes more.
Its really good....
Keep up the good work!!
Sincerely Anma
Thankyou so much for the review. I'm so sorry that I'm just now seeing it:).
Woah, that was a long poem, I kind of didn't expect it to keep going! I'm sat in the middle of a boring science revision lesson right now, and it was really nice to read this!
I could really feel the emotions that just flowed through this. I could feel the hurt you felt, especially towards the end. It had some amazing imagery that I could really picture in my mind.
I loved the structure; It kept on winding on, like a long string of emotions that felt very raw and very real. It really felt like you had so much to say, it came out in one big kind of 'word barf' (I don't know how to describe it whoops) and honestly I thought it was beautiful.
I can't find anything to criticise or anything you did 'wrong' I genuinely love this poem! Usually I don't like poems that don't rhyme but I think you've changed my mind
Thank you so much, and yeah it was kind of a longer poem. Not even going to lie I was scared to post it cause of how much meant it to me so I am glad to hear that it was good.
Poems with the most emotions are always the best ones
