Inspire Me

In Poems

Inspire me, speak the words that ignite my mind.

Because writer's block is giving me trouble at this time.

Play a tune, sing a song, give me something to write on.

Perplex me with questions to ponder, because my ideas have left and gone.

They have found a new home, it lies deep hidden away,

Under this blank and bland white page...

This is very easy to relate to! :-)
O.k. first my favorite bit. This was undoubtedly the last two lines, because the idea of putting ideas hidden under a blank white page is simply amazing! It perfectly describes that feeling that on this piece of paper you could do great things, but what you do is always less impressive then what you intended!
The other thing I particularly like about this is the half and full rhymes, which give it a bit of a jokey rhythm and MAKE IT BETTER!
Thanks for posting this poem,
Take That You Fiend!

This is Verser reviewing your poem.

Windsailor, this is probablly the most generic idea for a poem anyones ever used, but the way you write the poem caught my eye. The way you describe being inspired is awesome. You describe wanting questions and songs to ignite the dwindling flame in the back of your head. I also like how you describe where your thoughts went. I find it innovative.

One part I don't get is, a tune and a song are pretty much the same thing. I'm sure you could've thought of a better phrase than that. Also, I think you could've added more. The more you have the better the reader understands your work. Thank you for understanding and keep up the good work.

hello there, WindSailor,

time for another review.

woohoo! a poem about an inability to write poems! how genius!

this was really really nice to read. I loved this work. It was a very nice change to members writing about why they write, and how well they think they can write.

you even used punctuation.....almost. there is punctuation at the end of every line, except the last one. Did you get in a hurry? Never rush to post a work. make sure you always take time to go back through it read over it and make sure that it is perfect. i think that i would have put an ellipses (...) there at the end.

I think that was my only nitpick for this work...

very very good. you really captured the hated dreaded nasty nightmare of writers block.
keep writing!

Ok. I am writing something in this white and bland space.

In the hope of entertaining you.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

- He didn't! Ba boom. XDDDD

What do you get when you put a dog on a trampoline?

- A hairy trampoline XDDDDD

I hope my jokes can be seen as rather funny, because you sounded completely bored in your work. I don't know whether my weirdness will inspire you, but I hope it does.

I feel this way all the time! And then all of the sudden it hits me at the weirdest times. Like watching youtube at 3 AM. Well I hate that little parasite called writers block and its great that you chose to write about it. Anyways i really liked this :)

*whistles*

Finally, a poem about writer's block, this monster has been lurking in my mind for months and you have captured him perfectly. Writer's block is probably a writer's worse nightmare besides cliches and whatnot. And in this pome, I think you have captured that feeling really well. That frustration of your mind on blank. But at the same time, it has a light-hearted feeling to it that makes it enjoyable to read. So nice poem!

P.s: If you want to talk about writer's block, I'm always open to knock up some crazy ideas. Block's been dominating my life for a tag too long....
