Edit: I just realized there's another book by this title. I don't really plan to get it published, but if I decide to then I will probably have to change the name.
Edit: I have changed it from "Cali the Calico Kitten" to "Sally the Silly Siamese"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There once was a kitten named Sally.
She was a Siamese, you see.
She always stayed close to her mother
and played with her sisters and brother.
But one day little Sally
wandered from her family.
She was curious to see what's out there.
She wanted to go everywhere
She wanted to see what the people see,
but they're much bigger and taller than she.
They always stopped her when she tried
to follow them outside.
But one day Sally got smart, and she
knew exactly where she needed to be.
She made her way across the floor,
right out the doggy door!
What did Sally see when she
wandered from her family?
What was there awaiting her?
We will see in the next chapter!
Hello! Sophie here to review!
first stanza-amazing rhyme scheme and good story line appealing to young children. This is super easy to read and understand so it will be good for young kids.
second stanza-this is such a changing stanza. it signifies a change in the mind set of this kitten. many kids will understand this portion as something they have felt.
third stanza-this signals a climax which is good for kids to start to understand. Its super cute and I love it.
fourth stanza- this part is the part where everyone is on the edge of their seats. what does sally know? this is really important to the story as she starts to learn more and her curiosity grows.
fifth stanza- if you were to publish this, I would change this a little because if the teacher would be to read this to a class, it would confuse them a little.
overall- its really good and would be great for young kids. this is super cute and happy and many children would enjoy it!
What a sweet piece of poetry! This poem is short, cute and fitting of a children's book. A few tips: some of the rhymes are just a tincy bit little awkward and the rhythm stutters a little every now and then! That's it! This is a super cute poem and I look forward to reading more about Sally!
Keep on writing, your poems are so sweet!!!
Warm regards,
Xander Willow.
I love poems! Brilliant job!
