Morning Already?

In Poetry

Stars dance and twinkle

around the bright full moon.

Wolves howl in the distance

while crickets chirp nearby.

I should go to bed soon

but I know I won't sleep.

So instead I'll curl up

with a really good book.

I start reading and--

Oh? Is it morning already?

Hey mate, how are you?
I'm just dropping a review here (:

With touching upon a common action, you added a tint of humor and beauty to this poem. I like that.

This is a wonderful poem because one, you can relate to it, and two it is well written.
I, myself, have spent countless nights saying "one more chapter" and managed to stay up reading the entire book or whatever it was I was reading.

I like the imagery in the beginning. It adds beauty to this poem and I like the end as well.

I really don't have any critiques for you. Just keep up the great work!

That. Was. Good. Really. Good. Very relatable, and had a touch of humor.I liked how you took a common occurrence and made it into a comical poem. It was was an format for a poem, one that I haven't seen before. But it really went well with the topic. This was an amazing poem, one that made me have to go back and re-read it. Keep up the great work! Please!

Hello!! Authorian here for a reviewww!

This is such a beautiful poem. It's not too long, nor too short. It definitely feels like something you did for fun (in a good way) and it represents that perfectly.

It's also very relatable, which I love. When I read it I couldn't help but smile ear to ear as I read the last line.

I love your style as well! It's so simple and elegant. It captivated my imagination from the very first line. Reminding me of the many nights I've spent just like this (:

You deserve a like! Actually, you deserve more than one haha. But unfortunately only one is in my power. Keep writing! You have the talent to write great poems, so never stop.

Keep writing!

Best regards,

Authorian~~

Thank you for the review! ^-^

Hey, dude! Here's a review from a person who doesn't review poetry much!

Well, first the title. Really an awesome one. It sounds good and I loved it.

Second, just like Aaron has said, it needs more description. It's really a beautiful poem. It has a light, cooling yet strong theme. What I have got from reading this poem is that it has two core parts. One - your feeling bored or not sleepy at night. Second- your love for books. Here, you have to describe the night as a part of the first one. Try to point out something that is not easily seen. Or, something that is seen easily but not noticed. Something that hits the readers.

Also, in the last line, I think it would be better like this - "Oh? It's morning already?" so that it sounds like the poet is surprised that it's already morning.

Anyways, it was a beautiful poem. I do the same thing when I can't sleep and suddenly see that it's already morning.

Hey, Infinite! Matthew here for a review!
Okay, first thing I have to say is this is an.. Unusual poem, there is no doubt! I have nothing really bad against it(that I can find) so I'll tell you what I liked and what I didn't!
The first two lines I did enjoy, at first.
Now, I understand that this is a poem. I like how it isn't regular in a rhyme scheme. I enjoy that. But, the flow just isn't... There. Like,"I start reading and... Oh is it morning already?" Doesn't flow well with the rest.
One thing I didn't like was the imagery and the way it told the story. To me it just fell... Flat. Description, description , description! That's the key to a good poem.
I hope to read more if your work soon!
I hope I wasn't harsh!
Sincerely, Matthew Aaron.

This is a message to all you out there. You don't have to be the fastest writer. You don't have to write 2000 words in one sitting. But if you put your mind to it and really love your project, you can and will get further along than you ever thought possible.
