Drip, Drop

Drip, drop
The rain patters down
Down on the rooftops, down on the trees
Drip, drip drop goes the rain as the clouds release
their load. Drip, drop. The rain saturates the earth, giving
hydration and life to everyone and everything below. Drip, drop.
Dancing in the sky, the droplets make their steady descent. Carried by
wind and gravity, they fall. Down, down, with a steady rhythm. Bursting
as
they
hit the
earth.
Drip.
Drop.
Pitter.
Patter.
Drip.
Drop,
Drip.

Hello, InfiniteRectangles.

This is cute. Cute because of the shape, which is the main point of the poem, I believe. I don't have very much time, but I'd like to give you my thoughts on it quickly.

The umbrella is nice. However, I think you could improve it by giving it a cute J handle and also making it thinner. Instead of entire words in the handle, try using single letters.

Like that. And curve it upwards-- right now, it could be mistaken for an adorable mushroom rather than a cute umbrella.

I think you should make the poem more related to an umbrella than just describing the rain. Perhaps how umbrellas function in the world, how they relate to rain. At least put something in about people hiding from this lovely life giving precipitation.

That's about all I can manage with the time I have. I hope that this review proves useful to you! Happy writing!

Hello there. KingQueenKnave here, hopefully the most honest YWS reviewer. I reviewed your poem Poems Are Simple, which was too simple for its own good in my opinion. However, as mentioned in that review, I am impressed by this poem, especially because its meaning is not contrived and is obvious, as opposed to some poems where reviewers thrust their own meanings onto them as fact. "Oh, this looks like a snowflake!" When, clearly, it doesn't.

Enough of ad hominem now. I really like how you have played with the structure of the umbrella, making each line fit in with the part of the umbrella, without it being contrived. Although the message is simple like your other poem, it retains an educational message. It really rolls onto each new line, making it flow...sort of like rain- though such an analysis may be my perspective and not by your intention.

For improvements, I could spot the beginnings of a rhyming scheme, and perhaps you could expand this into something else. Not every poem has to rhyme, but this poem was inconsistent in that department. I also feel that, at a certain angle, that your poem is shaped more as a mushroom than an umbrella, but that is probably just me.

Overall, I really like this poem, and the accolade it has been receiving is well deserved. Well done.

Hello, InfiniteRectangles!!

Tis is Eros here to review artistic poem!!

I loved the unique presentation of the poem. It is a beautyful tree. It matches very well with the theme of the poem. It is based on drops of water falling from the eyes of heaven. I loved the idea of using the words "Drip, Drop" in between... It adds a beautiful dripping effect. Very well written. I liked it very much. Everything is written so beautifully. You have a sweet theme with a beauty.

I e-specially liked the last part of the stem of the tree :

Drip.
Drop.
Pitter.
Patter.
Drip.
Drop,
Drip.

It has a good rythming tone too! It was a great work.
Keep writing!
Best wishes.
Regards,
Eros.

hello my name is Hannah and here's my review. I like the way you have set out your poem I think its very cool and artistic how you have written it in an umbrella shape considering your poem is about rain. I don't think that the there needs to be the use of two "down's I think one down is fine. But I think that this is a great poem and keep up the good work :)

Hello InfiniteRectangles!

I really liked this poem :D The format is fun and creative and I like the repetition of the words "drip drop" to reinforce the title and you can almost hear the rain dripping and dropping on the rooftops and in puddles! (Of course, it's raining here so I can literally hear it lol.) I have read through some of your other stuff and so far I really like what I have read! You are so great at humorous poetry XD
Anyway, really the only thing I would suggest is to make the middle part more poem-like. It started out like a poem and ended like one, but in the middle it started to go into story territory (haha I made a rhyme).

Anyway, I really enjoyed this and I'm looking forward to reading more of your stuff! Never stop writing and have a great day!

Hey, I'm here for a review! Sorry if this is a little short!

Anyways, I love the format!!! I think it adds a lot to your concept, and gives the poem a feeling of complexity. I'd love to see more of your writing with other formats like this!

For the poem itself, I thought it was good. I liked one of your main concepts- the words "Drip Drop." When they were stated, the reader was reminded of the main idea of the poem-rain. So I really liked the use of those words, because they helped me wrap the poem up in my brain.

Good Job! I'd love to read more of your writing in the future!

Happy Writing!
