Prayers of You

by herbgirl

Every morning when I wake up I take a moment to lie in bed,
And thank the Lord for everything that he has planned ahead.
I thank Him for the life I have, and for the sky above,
But most of all I thank Him for your pure and endless love.

And every evening when I go to sleep I thank the Lord again,
For all the things He's done for me, and the things that will be and have been.
I thank Him for my family, and all things good and true,
And always I do thank him for letting me love you.

Because when all is over, and I have done my time,
My greatest joy will still be in having called you mine.

Okay, Prayer is a wonderful thing to do with my time, I like how you say you thank him for these things. Normally these are the seemingly little things, bit with a heart of gratitude they become huge.
As a Christian, I jump at things like this and you wrote this simply, it makes it seem really heartfelt to me. You have inspired me to write a poem about prayer and, or praise. Thanks and God bless you.
Kudos, great writing. Hope you write something like this again.

what can i say if not thank you for the write up. you are creative and gifted in writing.

i love your work because it has to do with prayer.

prayer is what i do everyday before i start writing for the day.

"Every morning when I wake up I take a moment to lie in bed,
And thank the Lord for everything that he has planned ahead.

Because when all is over, and I have done my time,
My greatest joy will still be in having called you mine".

one thing i like about your writing is the simplicity and the creativity.

keep it up

How lovely, a poem filled with gratitude. I know many people who would be outraged by seeing this poem, but in all honesty when I read it i could feel the warm radiating from the words.

Careful with your rhyming in the second paragraph, again and been do not rhyme. True and you only rhyme if your accent allows it too, so I suppose that is fine.

Time and Mine are another two words that only rhyme if your accent allows it too, so while this is fine, be careful about it.
