Writer's Block

Writing tonight
Is like losing a fight
Pencil vs. Paper
Caffeine vs. Night
And nothing comes out
Quite like I'd like
Because I'm losing this fight
Losing
To
Night

I'm not a fan of hashtags, but I think this one deserves a #relatable
Writer's block is honestly my bane, and I'm sure that most everyone who will read this would agree with that sentiment.

I've said this already in my onslaught of reviews for your works, but you have a true talent for creating such short but still meaningful poems that can get people thinking, whether it's about how hard life is or what a drag it is to just be stuck in the words.

I can't really say that anything is at all wrong in this poem because, again, your way with rhyme and structure is simply awe-inspiring, but if I had to point anything out, it would be only to say again what Odd said about the last three lines. "Losing to the night" I believe would improve the already phenomenal readability of this work :)

Hello! How're you today? :)

Writers block, the thing most of the writers could relate and let me tell you, it's no less than a battle, like fighting this block. D: But, we people do fight and win at the end of the day which is totally a merry thing! ^3^ So, I hope you get over it too and that too, soon enough!

I get your whole poem is about how you're not being able to fight this situation. It's quite straight. We get what are you saying. But, just this little suggestion from me. Do not repeat much. In this poetry, I see little too much repetition, especially of "Night" and "Losing" :3 It kind of makes the piece uninteresting. So, try being more tactful with word choice!

I hope the best for you! X

Hello, here for a short review.

This was a good poem, and in general I like poems that speak about writer's block, because it means that you have beaten it, even if not in the way you would have wanted to. This poem had quite a good flow, and there are a few rhymes that make it even better.

There are, however, a couple of things that I think you could change.

First of all, repetition. The poem is good, but you have 1/5th of the poem saying you are losing the fight. In other words, you repeat it a bit too much, I believe. If you could find a different way to express it, I think the poem would sound a bit better and less repetitive.

Then, the last three verses:

Losing
To
Night

I know that it would change the poem and might not necessarily work, but Losing to the night would sound better. However, I am guessing that you wanted make a play on words between losing to night and losing tonight, but it just doesn't work that well in my opinion and it might confuse the reader slightly.

The last thing I have to say is that the title has a mistake. It is Writer's Block, with an apostrophe. Apart from that, everything is good, and I liked this poem.

So keep on writing!

Short but to the point. Got the message across accurately and quite fast. A relatable topic used by many but expressed differently by all. I don't have a whole lot to comment on other than amazing job. This poem has a great structure and it really could be read in a sing song voice. And I love this topic.overall, unique and wonderfully written. Keep up the great work!

Hello there hmm. I like this but I think you should fix the formatting a bit. I think if you had lines five and six together it would help the flow a bit better then having it chopped in half like that. I like how you finish it off. It's a nice wrap up. Hahaha this was probably a bit more then you were hoping for, but I hope it helps you in some way or another. Have a good night! Whatgoescomes.

Hello! Authorian here for a revieww~~

First off, I can totally relate. This reminds me of so many unfortunate nights. (By the way, I hope you get over your writers block now and forever~~)

The style is really nice, I enjoy it. You have a talent for poetry (:

I wish not to drag this on as I have nothing to touch on that you could improve based off this particular poem. Keep writing!!

Best regards,

Authorian~~
