Road Trip

I could do anything, or go anywhere,
I could tame an ostrich, or battle a bear,
I could dance a polka, or discover a star,
Yes, I could do anything, if I could just get out of this CAR!

Hello, herbgirl! It's review day! I'm here to review your cute little poem.

I chuckled when I read this. I really enjoyed the humor that you implemented here.

Your meter is nice, too. I know it's only one stanza, and it's supposed to be humorous, so the meter serves it well. I usually am not a big fan of structured poetry, but the subject fits the lilting meter, and it really benefits the poem.

To be honest, I can see this expanded and almost turned into a cute children's book. What are all the things that someone could do if they could get out of the car? If you wanted to touch this piece at all, I think you should make it longer. Though really, it's lovely as it is, and you shouldn't feel like you have to. I just want more of the fun!

This really does remind me of the old children's poetry book that I had when I was younger. It had all kinds of poetry that reminded me of this, metered and funny and cute. When I read this, I really got a flash of nostalgia, not only for the book, but for road trips with my family as well. While I always wanted to get out of the car in the moment, it's nice to look back and think of the things that we did when we did get out of the car in the end.

Altogether, I really enjoyed this piece, and I encourage you to expand it. Maybe even make some cute illustrations to go along with it if you like to draw! I hope that this review proves useful to you! Happy YWSing, and happy review day!

Your friendly neighbourhood Kazey here for a review!

So, there really isn't much TO review to be fair, but it was really nice. I loved the repetition you used, as it really helps to bring the poem together. And the line at the end was very nice and humourous. I do feel like you could've perhaps expanded the poem a little more. There's definitely room for you to do so. Anyway, to say that you did this on the spot, it's a very nice little verse!

This is like something I would see in a Shel Silverstein poem. Your poem really brought back my childhood.

Hi, Yungcamus here!

This is a very quaint, short poem and I really enjoyed it.
I like the absurdity of the poem that's paralleled with the insipidness of the car ride.
I also liked how you messed around with how you wrote. Your first line is, "I could do anything"
and then later you repeat this phrase but with italics. It generates a distinctive voice and I feel like I truly know the person writing the poem.

I really enjoyed the poem and I encourage you to keep writing!

Hey Dogs here to review!!!

Since there's not really much to nitpick we are just going to go into the fantastic part of the review, and talk about how great it was! Sound Good? Let's get started.

I found this poem very funny. Personally my favorite line was...

[Yes, I could do anything, if I could just get out of this CAR![/quote]

I found this quite funny and so true. When I'm in the car for a long period of time with no music or movies, I get bored in like ten minutes.

I'm really glad you found out something to do by writing this poem, which I think a ton of people will love!

I really love the things you said that you could do. Battling bears, taming ostriches, etc.

Again really loved the poem, and I hope to see more like this from you! I found this very funny and it was a joy to read, and I'm glad I caught it.

By the way great title, that's what caught me in!!!

Keep up the great writing,
Love,
Dogs
