I've danced in the morning,
I've cried in the night,
But still no place calls to me
Like the place by your side.
So I'll love you forever,
If you'll just love me tonight,
Because I'll always be yours,
Even if you're never mine.

i get an image of a girl dancing around her room looking in a mirror when i read this poem.it is short and sweet but still good and better then what i have done i am slowly going to read thru all your work and review on all if i can as i said keep up the good work and show these people the talent the herbgirl has shown and will create more of hopefully
love, reborn(i know my username gammagamerale but i go by reborn )
Short and simple showing exactly what it means. This is amazing.
This is what i think and you should go on writing in this style. The poetry is short but still full If this makes sense?I like the feeling of it.
The only problem is the punctuation on two three places or maybe more/less I do not know but this is the only thing that i had seen as something negative.Without that i can not say something bad for the piece of art.Amazing job nad keep going.
Hey Herbgirl! Its just fangirl dropping for a quick review.
First this was really an awesome piece of writing. I loved the way expressed every thing in just such a small piece (personally i suck at writing 1 stanza poems...)
Anyway thiugh this was awesome i guess you have to work on your grammar and puncuations, and there is a lot of unnecessary capitalizations in your work.
"I've danced in the morning(a coma here)
I've cried in the night (fullstop)
But still no place calls to me(coma)
Like ( 'L' should be de-capitalized)the place by your side(fullstop)
So(coma) I'll love you forever
If (' i'should be de-capitalized) you'll just love me tonight(fullstop)
Because I'll always be yours(i dont think the 'because is required at the begining)
Even if you're never mine( e shold be de- capitalized and put a full stop at the end)
Anyway these are hjust suggestions you dont actually need to take them. Other than those nitpicks your poem was aweso e and i loved it...
Fangirl~
I usually include punctuation in my poems, I left it out of this one, however, because I found it scrawled in a notebook just like this and wanted to preserve the original version. Also, I usually capitalize the first word of each line because that's how I was taught poems should be written in school. Anyways, thank you for the advice!
Hey!
i really liked this poem. its lenght is very short and the meaning is simple. i know very well what the promises are.. so, i enjoyed a lot reading this poem.. the poem will look good and attracting if u use some rhyming words in it.. but stil the poem is very well written.. i have no words to praise the idea "Midnight promises"..
the line touched my heart are:-
So I'll love you forever,
if you'll just love me tonight..
Hey!
I really liked this poem and I really liked the length. I think if you add proper grammar and if you made it less confusing it will improve the poem a lot.
"But still no place calls to me
Like the place by your side"
these two lines confused me because the first two lines of the poem didn't really match these lines. The fourth line seems awkward and transition between the fifth line was awkward too. I think rewording them will help them become more clear.
I think the poem was very sweet and relatable. I'd love to read more of your work in the future,
Alice ♥
Hello! This was a really sweet poem! The last few stanzas are my favorite
Also, I've noticed that you didn't use any punctuation in your poem. This may have just been a stylistic choice, but I think that punctuation can add so much to a poem. It can also be a guide to readers who aren't as experienced in reading poetry and don't really know how it's supposed to be read. I understood where the pauses were supposed to go, but to others it may feel a bit rushed without the punctuation.
My view on the title: Personally, I think that either title works, but this seems more like longing than promising to me. It's up to you though. It is your poem after all.
That's all I have for you. This was such a sweet little poem and was really pleasant to read. Keep writing and have a wonderful day/night!
Thanks! I normally do have punctuation in my poems, but this one was sort of scrawled in a notebook, so to keep the original format I just typed it out as it was written. I agree that punctuation would make it better, I will add it as soon as I finish eating the donuts my brother just brought in!
